FanTaSy is a 23 year old professional Starcraft player who currently plays for Dead Pixels! He was known for having excellent vulture control and dropship play in all matchups in Brood War, which gained him the nickname "the Terrorist". Many people considered FanTaSy to be the next great player of the famous SKT T1 terran line up, as he racked up an impressive 5 OSL finals, winning one.
In Starcraft 2, he has not yet enjoyed the same level of success. However, a move to the international scene has allowed him to show definite recent improvement. It remains to be seen whether he can improve his skill to where it was in Brood War.
SKT T1 Coach on FanTaSy:
Park – From all the players I’ve seen, he is the most mature and intelligent. He doesn’t like being a problem to others, and does his work by himself 100%. Sometimes it’s sad to see. Weirdly he has no luck and even if he plays well, the attention goes to other players often.

Sign me up. Fantasy was the player who's games and strategic plays with vultures got me interested in watching competitive gaming and BW. First player i would downlaods reps of and watch with chaoslauncher to gawk at the plays. He is our Prince. He is of the SKT Empire. All Hail the Prince.
How did I miss this? Well, I've been a fan of Fantasy for a very long time and I have thought he never quite got the credit he deserves. Fantasy is one of the greatest ever in BW and I expect his skills to transfer nicely to SC2.
I was impressed by his game against Flash during the Proleague final, I have been following his matches since then. He is currently the number one BW Terran in my book. I just love his units movement, his tanks line movement when to move forward when to stay back; and his overall confidence with the units and his micro. Sign me up please.
Beat Nestea today in OSL which shows just how much he has improved since the MLG Kespa invitational. Also has the best win percentage in Proleague in SC2 while maintaining one of the highest win rates in BW. Just a great player.
You can sign me up Although I didn't follow Brood War (long time Halo player) I went back and watch brood war matches and vods to learn more about a lot of the kespa players and Fantasy quickly became one of my favorites. I also love watching him in SC2, he really is making the transition well and will be a top Terran soon enough. He is so good
How does it feel making it to Code A for the first time?
This is a stage which I really want to ascend and play on, and I am delighted to advance. The matches today were all really difficult, and they all got to the final game. I was really nervous too.
Why were you nervous?
It's been a while since I played in a tournament, and my results have been poor ever since I transitioned to Starcraft 2. That's why I felt really pressured. I could also feel myself improving as I practised recently. The nervousness seems to be because I expect a lot from myself.
Which areas did you focus on for the preparation of today's games?
I prepared at least two strategies for each race. Luckily, I met each race only once, and it made it easier for me to advance.
Which was the toughest match?
All three matches were tough. If I had to pick one it'd be the finals. I begun by losing the first game. It was difficult on the map whirlwind which isn't good for Terran. The finals were still the biggest hurdle.
You finally made it to Code A. Are you hoping to make it directly to Code S?
My goal is Code S. Through the qualifiers today, I understood a lot of the weaknesses that I have. If I can make up for these weaknesses, I believe there is a good chance that I can make it straight to Code S.
You played a lot of games in the MvP tournament. Kespa players usually play amongst themselves, but there were many non-Kespa players in the tournament as well. Was this a great help in helping you improve?
There were a lot of games. There were games which I won easily, and there were also many games which I lost. Because I lost too many games, I wasn't able to get top 8 and make it to the play-off, and I felt a little sad for that, but it also let me know that I should continue working harder. Through the MvP tournament I was able to meet many different types of players. I also learnt about the different styles. Kespa players tend to stick to one type of strategy, whereas the non-Kespa players play more loosely. I look forward to playing them again in the future.
What do you think is your greatest stumbling block in Code A?
It doesn't matter who my opponent is. What's most important is that I remain calm, and prepare and play properly. It's been so hard to qualify, I don't want to be eliminated too easily.
How different is it from OSL qualifiers?
For OSL, as long as you can qualify from the qualifiers, it's very hard to fall back out. But for GSL, you need to keep working hard, or you might just end up falling to the lower level. There are pros and cons to each tournament.
Rain's performance has been amazing, but there are many players who were good previously and are not doing too well currently.
After switching to Starcraft 2, Bisu hyung has been suffering from a slump, and I have been suffering from a slump too. Up until last week, I even wanted to just give up on the game. I went back to my hometown Busan for a vacation, and cooled off and readjusted my mentality, and that allowed me to get the results I got today. I'm now more or less out of the slump, so fans do not have to worry too much.
Anything you want to add?
I usually like to look at community forums, and there are many fans who want to see my games. I also think that I've rested for a bit too long. I'm really happy that I managed to qualify for Code A, and I will try my best to show good games.
So nice to see Fantasy in code A ! He was one of the most talented BW player, I hope he keeps up the good work and brings results.
Thx Weirdkid for posting the interview. Hearing that he thought about giving up his SC career frightened me a bit. The proscene would loose a lot of it's interest for me without FantaSy.
FK ya Fantasy you got in GSL code A. Never think about retiring plz plz plz. Will forever watch your games and style.
On May 27 2012 13:53 13JackaL wrote: could someone explain to me his "terrorist" nickname? i kinda wana know the story behind it
This was kind of a derogatory nickname at first. Fantasy was called "Terrorist" because he knocked out fan favorites from the OSL during his Royal Road attempt. He knocked out Nada and someone else I think, Nada being the huge fan favourite was making a comeback of sorts at the time by getting into Round of 16 in OSL.
Eventually the nickname became a term of endearment as Fantasy's harass (especially with vultures) in all match-ups in BW is an artform.
They wear a generic Nike hoodie that is rather expensive, but put their sponsors on it. But if you want the hoodie they wear it can be found at that link.
I think if he keeps up his practice, next season we're going to see a nerdslayer on a completely different scale of ability, compared to what we've seen so far in SC2. Like holy shit...

Finally this has been bumped again, I didn't know which one was the technical "latest" so I didn't want to post in any of them.
I don't follow SC2 anymore let alone play it but there's one man who I've always been the biggest fan of and whatever he's doing, being it continuing on with SC2 or maybe moving back to BW like Bisu did when his contract ends I'll support him all the way.

Fantasy is the best <3
Huh? Fantasy has more than one fan club?
If you search for Fantasy fanclub I found a few different topics, both of which are locked. I couldn't actually find this one using the search feature.

I searched and found this one lol strange
I get this
:s
I imagine it's due to the space in the title of this thread which I only just noticed. :o
The series was the first time I ever heard about by.Fantasy. In that case, for obvious reasons I cheered against him - he was playing against a Draco after all...and Draco lost that series. For me Fantasy was than "just another korean player to play against Draco" and it was only after his play against GGPLAY when I became his massive fan. When I'm watching that series, I cannot comprehend how awfull was his play in comparison to 2009 and after
FanTaSy unfortunately failed to make it past his Starcraft II Starleague group, falling to Terminator and Super 1-2. He played pretty well though, could definitely have won either of those series.
This guy blew my mind today. Dodging MS shots by jumping a reaper in and out of a bunker whilst repairing lol, what a boss. Old school BW skill helping him rek
Sign me up. He has been my favorite player since BW. I almost cried when he left SKT1. But the games he just played and the 3-0 makes me think it's the right move.

Gratz to Fantasy
SO everyone who left SKT that hasn't been to Blizzcon since after 2012 (Rain and PartinG were in BWC) is qualified into Blizzcon. Leaving KeSPa good choice confirmed??!!! LOL

If it means he'll go back to Broodwar then I don't mind that
I'd be happy too about it. But it is just sad to see him retire because of the retarded format this WCS is...
Not allowed in foreign tournaments, not allowed in ProLeague, all that is left is GSL / SSL / the $17 KCS. Other than he can't do a thing. Failing to qualify for any of them would mean 3 months of break with no tournaments.
Can't see why Dpix would continue with him like this
I think, out of the many prestigious players in Starcraft, there is just a handful which really made an impact on a larger scale. Fantasy is/was was one of them.

A famous Chinese caster,Huang Xudong, said Fantasy helped Firefly(a Chinese player) practice PvT and will live in a training base in Guangzhou in the future. This is not official news, but I think this implies Fantasy will join a Chinese team and play in the upcoming Chinese proleague.
It seems that we can confirm Parting and Fantasy join a Chinese Team P1. No official announcement yet.But in today's NexT korean qualifiers, their ID are P1.parting and P1.Fantasy.Another player in P1 is a Chinese player ,whose ID is Firefly.
So close, but got eliminated by Impact 2-1. He did well vs Leenock as well as vs Impact. ASL next season coming for him or will he stay in SC2 and try another GSL next season?
sad. but he played the best game of the day by far. the second game against ragnarok was heart-breaking. this nydus allins doesnt feel right. but fantasy had the chance to kill the overlord with 2 (!) vikings. sad he didnt do that. otherwise it would have ended 2-0...

That's heresy! How can the last post be over three months old when he's been absolutely wrecking it.
Encourage everyone to go watch the team league AlphaxSc2 youtube channel (or AfreecaTV channel). Beating Soo, Maru (after being behind!), Dark twice in a row, all-kills... Yes, Dark, that kiddo that just won blizzcon ;D
I think Fantasy is my fav terran now (sorry Mlord <3).
Keep it up, hyped for 2020! Also really nice to see an oldie and two youngsters (Time and Clem) rising Terran stars :D
