By far the most frustrating protoss to watch play is Showtime because he keeps playing as if protoss was a good race, when ahead try to get more ahead and all that nonsense. At least Maxpax knows that if he ever gets a small advantage what he has to do is press on it immediately otherwise the game is going to be even again in like two minutes. Protoss just needs one or two minor buffs and they would be much more competitive. I would add 10 shields to Oracles, to allow for slightly longer dive into mineral lines and maybe an extra second of damage to storm.
Blizzard can repay me any amount when this patch is made and people see how balanced things would be.

I think people are actually happier when the game is 75% Terran 0% Protoss, like I think the last GSL is basically ideal for most of the people who still watch SC2

Hopefully Classic can stave up the Zealot from feeling sad for at least one more day tomorrow!

I haven’t watched SC2 in a while, but I always check in and am very often disappointed in what I see as a Protoss fan so I just watch something else

I know this is an old post that I'm replying to, but I wanted to say that Protoss doesn't just need one or two minor buffs to be more competitive. The entire race would need to be reworked so that it isn't as dependent on power units that are easily hard-countered in the late-game, and so that Gateway units are more than just cannon fodder for those power units. This isn't an easy fix and it would require Blizzard to be actively engaged in redeveloping the game, which they clearly aren't.
The hyper-aggression that MaxPax and herO use in the mid-game is great for weekly tournaments with shorter formats, and it's very entertaining to watch, but it's never going to be sustainable over tournaments that have multiple Bo5 and Bo7 series. Good players will drag them into the late-game and Protoss isn't equipped for it.

IMO the easiest fix to the gateway units problem is to make some upgrades available in either the Templar Archives or Dark Shrine. I'm thinking mainly an upgrade for Stalker with either more Attack Speed or more Range and maybe something for Adepts late game usage like more shields while not phasing

They just need to make Overcharge, what it was and not a secondary Chrono Boost. They could've removed the spell and make Chrono able to target Battery and Cannons, making them act 50% faster and you can see that it is the same spell. I'd rather have a change to the spell than this nerfed shit. Make it so Batteries are always 50/200E whether build by a Nexus or not. And change the Overcharge so that all it does is fill up a Battery to 200E. I think this would be a much less hated spell, but also a useful one. EMP would act as a counter to Batteries as it should and so if a Terran is so butthurt by Batteries they can get the EMP.
This, and give back the Disruptor its full power again.
Oh and the Upgrades. Make all the unit upgrades the same build time, either the nerfed Protoss build time, or the standard T/Z one. Chrono boost is supposed to be a boon for the race. It is not supposed to be a sink into your upgrades to make them sync up with the other races, while they get to have Inject, Creep, or MULEs and SCANs..
Furthermore, if you want Protoss to distinguish themselves more through mechanical skill, simply make the Chrono Boost a 12,13,14 sec duration spell and half its energy cost to 25E, like it was in WoL. Protoss macro feels great in WoL and it was stronger as well. When they changed the macro mechanics in LotV, Protoss had the strongest macro, but then it was halfed in a patch, making its value much weaker in comparison to what the other values were changed by. So Protoss is literally balanced around having a broken Recall and a broken Overcharge. Well these are gated behind cooldowns and have both been severely nerfed with time. Remove the cooldowns, make them cost 75E in conjunction with the 25E weaker Chrono. This would hugely increase the decision tree for Protoss and people would be able to play more stylistic as well. Then every recall, or overcharge forced by the opposing player would also feel better. Because you are depleting the Nexus energy. Protoss would have to manage every single Nexus as well.
Protoss is clearly not designed by people who like Protoss, at the moment. So the cool things are removed and Protoss is supposed to deal with Swords and Javelins using sticks and stones

It's brotoss, when you win, you shit talk everyone like a bro, when you lose, you cry like a little bro who didn't get the candy :D
Okay, aside the trolling, Protoss is technically a race that is well suited for a move meaning, together we are stronger than ever! now summon all your energy to buff the sad zealot.
