Destiny fighting!
That's a huge win for Destiny, too bad the games weren't streamed and we can't get the replays :<. his next 2 matches are against players I have never heard of so I guess his chances are pretty high :D

The final notable name though in his bracket is Fenix, which he's a beast. Hopefully Destiny can pull a win from him.

He could also end up playing CatZ which is worth noting because its not an easy obstacle to overcome, ZvZ is just to volatile to call straight off.

Destiny beat CatZ 2 weeks ago or so at a Miami LAN to win it.

Not random, ranked 32.

Random= somebody not on a team and nobody has heard of i have never head of "Edge" nor head of him in any tournament, but he has made it pretty far so he is prob in grandmasters at least

Edge is on Infinity Gaming, he's really good, he almost got into the top 16 last MLG. He's really good, I think he's their ace.
I think Destiny needs a team if he wants to get serious about winning. Streaming will only get you so far...

Edge is pretty far from random, especially TvZ which is his best match-up

I second that, he really needs a team. His play sky rocketed when he got on ROOT and was able practice concistantly. There's only so much the ladder can do for you.

I sat right behind destiny and saw the games vs edge. He just hit timings in both games and killed destiny.

i dunno why americans and europeans (i'm from eu) put their players on a podium to witness their fall. The only person who really has achieved a lot are huk and idra who are foreigners.
Even destiny said on his stream that there are better zergs than him.
Don't expect destiny to win tournaments atm. He has a lot of potential but his reluctance to try banelings will only hinder his progress. You can't just do 1 strat constantly and not vary the strat. You need to be able to do cheese, macro and and use underused but valid strats (such as the overlord contaminate that nestea did to losira -haven't seen that since zenio raped idra with it) Nestea is capable of this and that's why he won 3 GSLs.
i like destiny and i watch his stream often but he has a long road ahead of him. I hope he keeps on practicing and streaming and maybe vary his strats so he can become a well rounded player and thus a potential competitor.
To become a top sc2 competitor in tournaments (not online) you need to be able to practice a lot which destiny does -check! You need to have the apm to carry out your goals which he has got -check! You need to have tournament experience which he lacks but it's a catch-22 because to get tournament experience he needs to vary his game. Sure infestors are nice and strong but if you do it every single game then people will just try to kill you before infestors are in play.
But until he changes his POV then i can only see poor tournament results in those big tournaments that matter....i.e vs the koreans.

If that's edge702, he also 2-0'd Fenix. Not bad.

Good showing, beating TT1 is no easy feat. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for the future.

I kind of agree with you, but destiny does practice some weird and funky BO3/5 builds, I.E. the 1 base overseer roach all in, "derp build"
he can also play standard, did so vs bomber in game 2 I think it was. so he does vary, but since he streams ladder games, he only does 1 build vs each race, because he knows it's the safest, except when he gets sniped by deezer or combatex

Losira said it best at the awards ceremony last night after losing to nestea. He learned alot from nestea and it was mainly that pure skill will only take you so far. I believe Destiny is way more skilled than many of the players he ends up losing to but he needs to be able to vary his strats to account for derp and timings or I hate to say it.....he'll never get over this hump. I watch his stream probably more than most and have constructively criticized him all the time <3 you Destiny.....fighting!
He'd rage at me for talking about it and call me stupid moron/dumb fuck/(insert cool destiny rage) but the way he plays there will ALWAYS be timings that he will just flat out die in his P and T while teching too quickly to infestors. He banks on his early infestors gaining him a 3rd and/or causing enough damage to be ahead on 2base to eventually take a third but the problem is if they don't he's in trouble. In T early medivac play scrambles his brain because there's only so much infestors can do vs it. Not to mention the timing where you can't just hold off pushes with upgraded slings and infestors aren't out yet (Seen him die at this point countless times because he refuses to just drop a safety baneling nest). In P he has to take a late third or he'll die to 6gate timings but if the P doesn't hit this timing he HAS to cause damage with the infestors or he's too behind. It's one dimensional to me and his stubborness (catz would agree) to vary his play holds him back.
Of course he'll call me a masters piece of shit and tell me to shut the fuck up because im a noob but thats all good rofl...I still enjoy his stream more than any other and wish he'd get serious about getting better....meaning stop being so god damn stubborn with "your builds" Steven!! <3333

Agree on this. Another weeknes vs T is when T spread their vikings. His only AA is infestorspells and its just to costly to kill of vikings if T plays that way, and that makes his BLs die.
But I think Destiny has reached a treshold where everyone at that lvl really master all aspects of the game, micro, macro, mechanics, strategy, positioning etc. At this point what really differs is the understanding of the meta-game, and to be a contestant destiny really should;
1. Join a top team, do discuss and custom, to be in the forefront of meta subtleties. Root and Minigun was a giant leap for Destiny, and now he could benefit from something similar. 2. Play much more tournaments and LANs and get the routine he needs.
Also both of these points would benefit his situation as a professional, as his personality really shows when hes got someone to discuss with and that will make the stream more intersting to watch, which will give him more income. Likewise with tournaments, where the do or die setup increases the excitment for the viewer. And if he play european cups and tournaments he can grow his european fanbase.
3. He needs to be more flexible and varied; even if he believes his infestorstrat is the most powerful possible, in tournamentsettings its important to vary to put off your opponent.

destiny needs more professional and serious practice and i see him in the championship pool pretty soon. but DAMN he needs a team! Destiny fighting !!
