Nope, the game was evened up when TLO suicided his army into Tester's rebuilt natural with the Colossus on the cliff

That as well. TLO gave TesteR a chance.

So you can't come back from a 400 mineral deficit? That must make you a pretty bad player yourself..
Alou has been running tournaments with ICcup for ages around here, I don't think you are in a position to l2p him..

It was very anti-climatic to have game two followed by a voidray rush. It really made me a sad panda to watch tlo loose. Even with the viking he failed to hold it off. /sadface

+ Show Spoiler +yea i think seeing TLO lose to such a dirty strat was sad indeed. Then that feeling was multiplied when you notice that he could've repaired his viking with all those scvs bouncing around.. argghhh at least TLO won the macro game.

+ Show Spoiler +I disagree. It was a great play by TesteR. It wasn't dirty at all. It was a perfect reaction to what TLO was doing. Call it "cheesy" or "dirty" or whatever, but it worked perfectly. I'm just excited the TLO vs Idra game will be very big for both players.

+ Show Spoiler +TLO losing was such a friggin let down!
Epic Game 2...and then game 3.
Tester voidray cheeses...
Goddammit tester....just...why?

gogo tlo TERRAN is da best race btw, and dont forget the manliest!

Gotta love people dissing the Void Ray play, even though it was a great choice by Tester, a legitimate part of the game and usually easily countered. TLO blundered in a couple of ways, and lost the game accordingly.

Its mainly due to the fact it followed probably one of the most epic games ever played during the beta. Not only did people have high expectations and hopes for another awesome game, but the fact that the game itself ended so early to such a strat made it seem even worse.
That being said, it was a good play for Tester, and he deserved the win for it.

Seriously. The game could have gone on just as long as G2, but, like I said, TLO flopped.
|
+ Show Spoiler +I think TLO played great today, but Tester is undeniably good too. 1rax CC is pretty common (but on Blistering sands? Why??) and Tester went 4 gate after he kept TLO from bunkering up so I don't consider that circumstance cheese. Game 2 was great. TLO lost his advantage when he lost his push into the natural of Tester. TLO had great harass and multitask to close out the rest of the game. Game 3 just wasn't cheese by Tester. TLO did the same build as game 2. In game 2 TLO moved out with a lot of marauders and hellions in his first attack so void rays would be perfect. Cheese blows but Tester didn't cheese.

+ Show Spoiler +I made a conscious effort to not call it cheese so "dirty" was the next word that came to mind :p. Even though the game was much shorter then the one before it, Tester did deserve the win since TLO did not respond correctly to the void rays and also sent his scv out too early form Tester's base. Regardless, game 2 will go down in history just as TLO vs Nazgul on metalopolis did

Just for anyone curious, especially TLO if you keep up with reading this thread.
Tester actually had a viable tactic for breaking the defense set up around the middle of the 6 base split once he got the mothership.
There was a particular vulnerability in the way the defense was set up such that an army could run into the top two bases, basically TLO's only mining bases. Once there, the army could snipe them easily while drawing the terran forces thataway to defend. Not only that, but the mothership could have been used in a more defensive position to recall the entire force BACK for a second round on the left side of the map, destroying the main and nat (production buildings). The result would have been a Terran army that was HEAVILY out of position, and Tester could have finished the snipe, ramming his army into whatever out of position units were left.
Since all production and mining would have been axed, he could have simply macroed another force to overpower the remaining terran stuff and contain for the win.
What actually happened was a rather shittily executed mass recall into the main that resulted in all his crap dying, which obviously isn't any good >_>
Just saying for the curious and the TLO, what might have been

Seriously, stop calling Void Rays cheese already. It's not cheese, it's a STANDARD build order, completely normal in every way.
Call it anti-climactic, call it boring, whatever, but don't call it cheese.

At the moment that TLO's army died in the failed attack there was not a very big worker advantage at all. A few extra workers does not justify instantly losing a game.

You were impressive as usual in KotB. Shame Idra miracle broke that last push.
I just have one question if you read this. I've noticed that you always siege your tanks when you get caught in the field with them. Don't you think it would be better if you just left the unsieged tanks unsieged sometimes so you can run them away if you get caught out of position?
