She's still one of the best singers amongst the regular kpop idol girls (see vid), most other kpop "main vocalists" can't hit high notes for shit live.

hmmm not bad. Not sure I like the overlong intro or the rapping but I guess they had rappers... impressed that they kept the chorus in the original key, cause man that shit's high for dudes Wonder if they can sing that as well live... also amused that their promo song title is so similar to this song's title lol

Hyorins looks are lower than the average kpop girl (gremling?), combine that with her wishkey/smoker speaking voice (see the RM ep and you understand) makes me want to choose Yejin instead of Hyorin in everything. I think it's fun that there's at least a couple of decent singers out of the like, 100+ kpop girls around. Choose her for what? For singing the songs or videos? Or as a make believe girlfriend? ![]()

I can appreciate a good voice, kpop or no, and while visuals are a part I think alot of us here actually do listen to the music, hence buying the cds,the last.fm stations, etc etc. I enjoy staring at attractive kpop women, but I also enjoy listening to good kpop, and Hyorin vocals are as good as any other vocals I'd listen to normally really. and the voice doesn't bother me at all, I like a good smokey/hoarse voice (not a smoker's voice), having been in frequent contact with lifelong smokers I can tell you that there's a difference between her voice and a smoker's voice, because when you get to her level of hoarseness a smoker can't really talk anyway, whereas her voice has a smokyish quality while still being clear. I don't mind. She's not the prettiest but she's not a troll either, and she can pull of sexy (ma boy). edit- as for gwg's post, if that were true I'd be posting videos of that girl group made entirely out of racing models, or posting videos of racing models with music in the background or something. If you're suggesting you take music out of it entirely I don't see why you just look up models instead of watching kpop, the girls would be hotter.

Amen. American CD's are just a cheap ass plastic jewel case with a disc and a sheet of paper. Why bother buying a cd when all you get is the music? You can just download it. Korean albums are packed full of goodies. I guess Japanese albums are too(the SNSD ones anyway, I don't know any others tbh) but they are prohibitively expensive.

Fair enough, I understand your point of view. However, at least for me, kpop (music) has never been about who got the superior singing ability but more about the addictive melody, catchy chorus, flashy visuals and the dance moves. Ofc the singing ability is part of it too, just that its not the most important factor. And lets be honest, how many groups have more than 1 decent singer in their group? So if we take the Ma boy 2 song as an example - the female part of the song is not that difficult vocally, hence I think Yejin does a good enough job to make it a good song. Add to that her superior visuals compared to Hyorin > Yejin is my choice. So ur saying that good kpop requires good vocals? What about Roly Poly and 100s of other kpop hit-songs? Do you think they got good vocals? Racing models? No I dont want that, but I dont need Hyorins caliber singers either for me to buy/listen to kpop (Of course I also appreciate good vocals but if I want to hear that kind of music I stay far away from kpop).

You're absolutely right. And the CDs with all the extras were like £6, which is half the price of a shit jewel-cased CD back in England. Either way, I need to learn that shuffle dance and get my ass down to Hongdae pronto.

That's pretty intense. My entire cd collection pales in comparison, not just my kpop. 7 SNSD cds, 1 t-ara, 1 IU, about 25ish classical music. Not even half way..
