I only saw her Immortal Song stuff but I liked that a lot. Real music. Like Nicole, she's a real entertainer, even more I'd say. She doesn't stand on stage and act cute, she takes control and possession of the stage and of the audience. She has a great body, a voice well suited for a kind of music that I like (Cabaret/Jazz type of stuff) and even tho her face is... Different... She's still pretty and mad sexy in her own way. I would go see a Hyorin show/concert before a Sistar one. | ||

If you've ever been vocally tutored or trained, or have any experience with vocals, you'd know that range is naturally bestowed. Even with practice you can only increase/decrease your range by a second, maybe a third at max. Claiming that hyorin can hit high notes live is like saying yao ming can touch the rim without standing on his toes. Range, like height, is simply a given and not impressive in itself. There's also nothing extraordinary about her intensity/power; a million other vocalists can project just as well as she can, and her control isn't something to be awed by either. Since we're talking about control, I chuckle to myself every time someone shits on IU's vocals. Because of her incredible real voice range, she's able to transition from high to low with ease without break, and that's innate talent. On second thought, a lot of people can't project for shit and people still say they're good singers for some reason (Jessica) so I guess this might have some merit, but still debatable. so what does that leave hyorin with? a moderately powerful husky voice, ok. nothing but an above average singer. In terms of "idol vocal capability," she'd maybe make it into my top 5, but that's not saying much, is it? | ||
