He only said Jaekyung was ugly and why anybody liked Rainbow anyway.
Then people starting throwing out the "Why SNSD isn't much better" kinda of stuff.
The thing is that he throws out "she's ugly". But compared to what and why? He's a given SONE. There is no reason to not assume that he isn't comparing her to the SNSD members. And they have Hyorc, fiddlesticks (yoona, sooyoung) and Bieber.
I disagree with that, when you look at someone and say "she's ugly" or whatever you don't compare them to someone else. You can clearly see that they are ugly and that's it.
Everything is done through comparisons; you can't have one side of something without the other. It's how humans work.
Yeah which is exactly why I said "compared to other idols", because obviously compared to regular human beings she isn't ugly, however, compared to a ton of other idols I find attractive(gasp, some of which include SNSD wow), she is terrible. If I wanted to compare her to SNSD I would have said Taeyeon I guess because isn't Jaekyoung the girl people think looks like Taeyeon for some reason?

Like you said you totally didn't like T-ara, good for you because I don't understand why you'd say that. Jaekyung seriously not top tier for me but Jisook really qt. How come a song like Bubble Pop gets banned while this one gets through with nothing but minor modifications? Even though you can edit out parts of the video which are "inappropiate", you're still left with the text..

Since we keep bringing up individual members in groups heres my "who is she list". The member that first caught my eye, usually happens in the first video I watch.
*no particular order of fav group or even if I like the group.
SNSD - Taeyeon in GEE (her adlibs near the end + that tiny tiny hat) KARA - Hara in STEP (something about her tied back hair + eyebrows) T-ARA - Soyeon in TTL (Just all around great stuff from T-ara here) A-Pink - Bomi + Eunji in I dont Know (both sing the chorus at one point. Bomi's face + Eunji's vocals) Rainbow - Woori (her rap part and the outfit she wears during the begining of A) SECRET - Zinger in Shy boy (she shakes her stuff well) SISTAR - Bora in MA BOY (those legs)
Obviously this list isn't complete. I fell asleep during mubank, I was upset and this thread seemed derailed. Enjoy.

Personally, how much I like a group is directly correlated with how catchy their songs are, you obvious have a different criteria for liking groups
I'm not trying to answer for Moonwrath since I don't really like him, I think both him and DystopiaX should learn to just shut up sometimes, there is too much of both of them in this thread and it's not like they're posting gems either. And I had a really hard time editing all the vulgarities out of last sentence.
Anyway why I'm posting is because Rainbow is too good an example to pass on: "A" is one of my favorites across kpop, I think it's a great catchy song. Meaning it's well composed. I like the song so yeah I listen to it a lot. But that's about it. I think you're the minority here man, this is kpop, how much I like a group is correlated with how sexy they look when they shake them asses, or how funny they are on variety shows, or how cute they are in CFs etc. Nobody cares about music. Even the so called "music" shows, you're not the best because you won some music show, you win music shows because you're the best. The best at what? Shaking them asses, acting funny on variety, being cute in CFs.
And I mean it takes all kinds to make a world, people have different tastes your mileage may vary. Obviously some of you like them but personally none of Rainbow ever caught my eye despite all the pictures here, and one awesome song not gonna change shit. I don't know any names beside Jisook and now Jaekyung. The reason why I know these two names you can probably guess by now + Show Spoiler +

Same goes for T-ara, I like and listen to a number of their songs, not as much as "A" but they have plenty solid tunes. But ultimately I don't give a shit about them coz I think they're all ugly. Same thing 2ne1, well 2ne1 aren't just another copycat group so at least they're better in that regard.
I would like to say that I might be a minority but I can genuinely say that a pretty big majority of how I feel about a particular group is dependant on the songs they put out. In fact I don't know any group that I actually decided to follow or look up more info on before I heard a song that I liked from them.
Even exaggerating you can't really say "Nobody cares about music." If the music wasn't catchy you wouldn't even know about these groups in the first place. If it was just them being cute or whatever on CFs, there's plenty of Korean actresses out there and variety shows don't only feature idols.
Obviously looks does play a part in how people perceive their idols but they would be nothing without their music. I honestly can't stress how much a group's music can change my whole perception of them.
I though 2ne1 wasn't any thing special with "Fire" but then I heard "Go Away" and I really put in effort to look up their other songs. SNSD was probably my favorite group with everything from Gee to Mr. Taxi (RDR, Hoot excluded) but then "The Boys" just totally ruined it for me.
Edit: As for Rainbow, TBH I didn't like A or Mach (I found the choruses annoying), but I loved Sweet Dream, which doesn't seem like the popular opinion here.
