Well, at least now I find the nice boat meme halarious. It picked one of the most gruesome ends, though personally I think another one is worse. + Show Spoiler [game] +Kotonoha calling out Sekai and Makoto, suicides right in front of them after getting their attention with text. Permanently broke the two apart, both suffered mental issues from then on. In terms of sheer brutality it isn't as bad as the anime (or rather one of the other bad ends), but psychologically speaking I think this far outstrips the other
Kona did you even touch the game lol. I was actually more interested in Summer Days just because it should be more hilarious in how there are even more people going after that loser.
Stripe, about your complaints, they just make Kouta and Makoto (and Kotonoha, consequently) so very much human, I can't really call that a flaw. We see too often people who such then can do well when things count, honestly, it is much more boring to see that. That people betray your expectation is by far more interesting than people "doing the right thing".

There's no anime that rivals the amount of balls that show has, and especially Makoto. My theory is that people who dislike it are uncertain in their own sexuality. There's no better feeling than the throughout despair after such a heartbreaking story! Not that anime usually have the Hollywood-happy-ending disease, but there's something special with School Days.
tbh... I haven't watched it yet :D just was curious enough to read what was it about and I think I know how it ends ;P I think I saw some posts here about how horrible this series was but with such a good ending? Like for those that weren't thinking it was fucked up but good in the way there is nothing similar out there?
If you say so I guess I'll give it a try... x)
edit: ye I read what happens in the end right... and read game has more too xP + Show Spoiler +On July 11 2009 08:31 PH wrote:The part where the other girl (can't remember her name) + Show Spoiler +cuts open Sekai's womb to check for the baby was completely fucking insane, though. I think that saved the entire show for me.

After watching the series, you return to the first episode and wonder how the hell that happened :p Fuck, the moment Makoto cop of feel from Kotonoha, I knew something was wrong.

Look at these [edited] not using spoilers. ;p It may be a shit series, but srsly! (I don't intend to watch it... especially not now lol).

Well, I don't really think spoiling School Days is taking anything away from the series. Well, unless you want to be mind fuck out of nowhere.
But I'll try to be more careful now, haha.

Just got around to ep1 of gendai mahou and ep2 of canaan, latter looks as awesome as ever, former looks like it could be worth a hard look. Though I am heavily biased for anything that has light novel origins.
About demonid...weren't there threads on that in the past? Search function is your friend.
And an additional note about school days, if not for the tame episodes early on happenstances of the latter episodes would not be seemed as much. People can try to think of Endless Eight to be like that. Maybe.
Or they can simply imagine situations of people snapping, I look forward to c77 - it is probably too late for recent contents to make it to c76.

I have pretty much watched every show this season (mostly ep1 or ep2 if its out) the exceptions being sequels, kid shows(example being Element Hunters) and here's the shows worth watching by genres:
Ecchi lovers: Kanamemo - Loli is taken in by a female boarding house, they also all happen to be lesbians. There were a couple of LOL moments to be had.
Action: Needless - Manly action, very similar animation style to Gurren lagaan. Bakemonogatari - INCREDIBLE visuals/really like the way they tell the story. Canaan - Female version of Jason Bourne(at least thats the feeling I got).
Mystery: When the seagulls Cry - I enjoy the premise (can you say 10 little indians?) however the downside I found with the show was how the characters overreact in anger to everything.
Other: Tokyo Magnitude 8.0: Story about the life of a little girl in tokyo after a major earthquake destroys the city.
Super Cliche stuff but has SOME redeeming factors: Sea Story - SAILOR MOONNNNNNNNNNNNNN Sora no ManiMani - normal highschool comedy/love triangle Fight Ippatsu - I was thinking of giving this show its own category of 'beyond weird shit' but decided it could go in here as I think I laughed a few times.
Stuff that you could pass and not regret: Aoi Hana - Lesbians dealing with life in highschool, yes the premise sounds good but I was bored out of my mind with episode 1. Taisou yakyuu musume- About female baseball in the 1920's, nothing was interesting at all. Although it could get good, but I'm putting it in this category.
My favorite shows so far:
Needless: Over the top action, it's cliched, they talk so much about stuff but its still entertaining as hell. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0: I REALLY enjoyed episode 1, really felt like I was watching Grave of the Fireflies again.
Canaan and bakemonogatari being next in line.
--------
Alot of the anime this season is very laid back so I'll probably end up watching most if not all shows.

Speaking of Umineko
+ Show Spoiler +6 dead already- leaving 12 left(13 if there is someone else on the island) They are really jumping right into it. The best character's so far are Maria(the kid) or the grandfather. Everyone else is pretty bland and boring.

So apparently the dub version of Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 is out, and I just got word in from a friend up in Seattle who went to go see it. Apparently, the dub is pretty freaking good from what he says. Here's what he said about it. Oh, and he didn't watch the Japanese subbed version, only trailers for it (too lazy to do anything but copy paste).
Rebuild is freaking awesome. I watched a little bit of the original Evangelion before I went to go, and this movie far exceeded my expectations. The visuals were amazing as expected, and so was the sound. But the real thing that pieced the movie together for me was the dub. Normally, dubs are the worst thing to ever happen to an anime, but in this case, the voice actor for Shinji was absolutely perfect for the role. Spike Spencer really hit the ball here and he captured his emotions perfectly. Seriously, the entire cast did a fantastic job, and I think they mostly stayed true to the characters in the original show (which critics probably won't like).
Still though, another big part about this Rebuild is the change in some imagery and the revamp in Angel design. The biggest of course being the 5th Ramiel. It changed so much that it was barely recognizable. Another difference was that the Angels dissolved after they got defeated, but I wasn't sure what the liquid was. I think it was LCL, and it would absolutely fit, but it's never confirmed. I know that you have the Japanese subbed version, can you confirm? The rainbow imagery also confused me. What was the deal with that? I'm not exactly sure if it fits within the context of the cross. I have a hunch, but I won't say it unless you message me back with your interpretation.
There's more, but I only cut out the really relevant parts. Everything else was mostly analysis from him. If you want to see it and my responses, I'll put it in, but I have a feeling that no one will really care

I somehow managed to finish watching one of the most disturbing Anime ever...Koi Kaze?
It's about some pedo 27 year old dude who falls for his 15 year old sister...and the whole time I was hoping for a good ending, where they both move on or they both die or some shit...but no. Instead they fuck at the end.
|
LOL, why would you watch that, at least it's better than Boku no pico, I just can't... remove those images from my head

I watched that a while back because I heard it was "something unique" and had good reviews. I was expecting it to be some sort of clever social/cultural commentary but it ended up just being mostly a pedofantasy.
