but princess principal is great. Made in Abyss is staying on the watching list for me. One of the true unique anime to air in a long time. I'll deal with the kid protags simply because I can allow for their behavior more so than I could with an adult or teen acting the same way.
Again, what behavior........?

Koi to Uso EP 3 was not what I was expecting... fun though. Lilina is my fav in this show. ^^

I guess the behavior I don't like is what is always going on in anime it seems. The overly-childish tantrums and dumb decisions that would only be made by children. They regress the minds of teens so far it is hard to watch. I understand the cultural differences (I lived in Japan for 3 years and recently visited), so that argument is moot. I would just like teens to act like teens and children to act like children. The shame of seeing a woman's skin or man's skin. The awkward way of talking. The nonsensical ways in which they always get into trouble. Maybe I'm just too old for anime

but princess principal is great. The design in Abyss is great, what are you talking about? Well, at least the environment design. I actually like the char designs, except for Riko maybe, but I can see why people could dislike it. Now that more people are talking about Princess Principle I should check it out. Staff looks quite promising. I also started the third season of Haikyuu today. First episode set things up and it's going to go right into the match, great. If it's going to be as good as I expect I may finish the season today.
Char designs obviously. I think they look pretty similar to Ghibli but i never liked a lot of their designs to begin with. The background design is pretty good but i'm not particularly impressed with it as I am of backgrounds made by Studio Pablo.

Nono, I completely understand what you mean it's the same for me. There are a few gems here and there were people act "normally", or should I say with a certain intellect. Keep in mind that some stupid drama can still be realistic regardless of age because there is a lot of that out there in the real world. It's just pretty frustrating to watch (see all the docu soaps...) and it's beyond my why I would want to watch it in an entirely fictional story where the author has complete control over those things.
Well, you should watch Hourou Musuko. There you have children/teens acting more mature than most adults regarding personal drama. :D

Your dots make it sound like you want to prove a point with that argument. It certainly doesn't prove anything. An artist's style can change and an art director's even more so. It can be deliberate or just a natural change over time. Look at Abe's character designs in the upcoming Project D: + Show Spoiler +https://myanimelist.net/anime/35835/Project_D He did the art for Texhnolyze, NieA Under 7, Serial Experiments Lain and Haibane Renmei. If you haven't watched any of those 4 please take a look at the char pages at MAL and tell if you think Project D chars look anything like the other 4. Regarding Abyss, the characters have very different proportions than in most Ghibli movies. The heads are bigger and "rounder", as they don't have a chin. All the appendages are also shorter. Generally the char design is way more chibi-esque than the one in Ghibli movies.

The Art Director and the Character Designer are often two different positions, anyway

they do have a chin, it's just not pointy. That is different from ghibli but it's not a big enough difference to me. Appendages being shorter is just a result of them being more tiny. Either way, if you dropped made in abyss character designs into a ghibli movie, i wouldn't notice a difference.
I can see certain parts of project d being similar to his previous works but there's about a 15 year gap of him not really releasing anything except book illustrations.

Little kid protags doesn't have to be a bad thing. There have been shows like Dennou Coil and Noein that pull it off. Heck, the tone of Abyss has been pretty reminiscent of Dennou Coil thus far.

New Game!! ep2 was great. As was expected. AotS totally deserved and if it becomes any better I'll be doing nothing but rewatching it.
That being said, I want to see the Shakespeare girl already! Also, while the OP and ED are clear downgrades for me from a music pov the visuals are so good :3
On the other side of the spectrum: Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni. continues to be some of the worst shit I've seen in a long time with it's second episode. I don't particularly mind him being OP but if you come out of this with the afterthought that even the Mahouka MC, that almighty onii-sama faces more problems than this MC it might give you an idea about what kind of MC he is... With Mahouka I don't really mind it because even if we all know he's the allmighty onii-sama that can do everything and anything there's always at least the attempt to make it look like he's struggling in some way. Be it due to the situation behind the curtains he has to deal with rather than the actual fighting etcetc. With this it's just... too easy. Everything is too easy. The kids go to the capital: + Show Spoiler +"oh a travelor, where are you going? - Oh, to the capital, and you folk? - We are as well! Let's team up!" a bit later they find a caravan that got attacked by bandits, they save them "oh a caravan, where are you going? - Oh, to the capital, and you folk? - We are as well! Let's team up!" and I'm not even exaggerating things here. If you told me that was taken word for word from the show I'd believe it

Is new game a harem anime? Seems like one.

well, maybe all female yuri harem considering that hazuki is basicly hiring only girls because she thinks they're all cute

You and Numy would get along.

Started watching Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiro Savant to Zaregototsukai Episode. Kinda of weird camera shots and the story is confusing in the first episode. No idea where this is headed but I'll keep watching.

Slaughter, I noticed you're watching Kara no Kyoukai. Synposis seems interesting. How are you finding it so far?

I think the biggest thing I hate about anime are the beta males. Every MC is a beta male for better or worse.
