What is the Melty Blood on steam? Is it like a special edition? Its called Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code. MBAACC is a pure fighting game. Only the original game and Re-Act has the VN bits if I remember correctly.

Yea, like Spazer said, MBAACC is the most recent version of the fighter, so as an actual fighting game, its the best, but it doesn't have the VN aspect as the original had. The original was pretty shotty, as far as fighters go, but the VN aspect was solid.

It still looks garbage but now people are stockholming themselves so hard. Is Japanese government funding CGI development like all those "please make babies" anime?

Also some CGI looks fairly good IMO, like from Seikaisuru Kado from last season.

It costs more to produce a model with 3DCG than it does to draw it, but that only counts for a single frame, the second you begin reusing it, especially multiple times or constantly throughout a series, it becomes so much cheaper. You can even reuse it if you make another season or multiple seasons. So yeah, in the end it speeds things up and cuts some corners cost wise. I doubt it'd be cheaper if the CG was super high quality tho, then again super high quality 3DCG might look even more out of place than the cheap 3DCG does lol.

If they did some Blizzard Trailer or Triple A movie production stuff then it wouldn't be cheap. If their aim is to produce cheap anime that looks garbage and think it's a good marketing strategy, then ok. On top of that, 3D just looks so out of place when paired with 2D animation. It just doesn't work well. Also please define "fairly good". As in, slightly less than terrible?

Knights of Sidonia CGI looked really bad. The mecha CGI in it wasn't the absolute worst, but the CGI people...... God that was terrible.
