She's so evil for wanting to help her classmate. She seeks to break Sagiri from her hikikomori ways by severing her last link to the outside world in a traumatic fashion. This... is not a good way of addressing what may be a profound psychological condition. Then again, Japanese culture as a whole has only recently begun to address psychological conditions. I'm no psychiatrist but what else are you supposed to do? Nothing works. The way I see it, the internet is a drug for Sagiri. If you want someone to stop doing drugs, you need to cut off their supply of drugs. Brotherly love ... and forcing someone to quit drugs cold turkey is also a way of damaging them further. She's not addicted to the internet - she's closed herself off from the outside world and the internet is her one lifeline out of her room that allows her to feel some connection to people around her. The solution is not to cut off that lifeline. It's not addiction they're dealing with, but extreme social anxiety and potentially agoraphobia. Even if it were addiction, a psychologist will tell you that you cannot stop an addict unless you can first convince the addict to want to stop. All other methods are doomed to fail, one way or another. I'll take your word for it. Like I said, I'm not well-versed in mental illnesses. And even if I was, I don't know that much about Sagiri or her past. I just made my post because I was annoyed at the people (mostly in jest) going "OMG SHE WANTS TO DESTROY THE INTERNET REEEEEE" like real life versions of Sagiri. But I need internet to do my job or even to be a successful student. Internet is a basic human right at this point tbh. Again, Megumi wasn't saying that we should get rid of the internet; she was simply saying that she thinks Sagiri should be cut off from it. If Megumi thinks the internet should be destroyed, why would she have a smart phone? I mean i just think cutting people off the internet is, while not as bad as destroying it, also really cruel and evil.
What if it's for their own good?
Presumably Megumi would be fine with letting Sagiri have internet access again once she proved she could use it responsibly.

Haven't watched the latest eromanga-sensei episode yet but stopping what is essentially a lifeline is a bad idea. Reduce its use slowly over time etc... but don't stop cold turkey.

Arguably exaggerated example but if you were afraid of pen&Paper the solution would not be to reduce the amount of words you're allowed to say each day, ultimately going down to 0, in hopes that you start writing letters to communicate with people.

This has been an...interesting discussion you guys have been having here.
Is this even a real thing? People think the classmate wants to end "the internet" ? Did I miss something or did Ferrose randomly defend this classmate from criticism that didn't exist (in this thread anyway) and that spawned a discussion lol.
I am not even sure why people should have strong opinions either way on this. Its just a High School girl making the assumption that someone locked up in their room is the sterotypical hikikomori and suggested cutting off her internet access and showing her "more interesting things". She obviously is making the wrong assumption since she doesn't know the girls history but its a pretty small thing to focus on. If anything the fact that she basically barged into and tried to mess with complete strangers would be the thing people would focus on o.O

You have seen all the RPG element ones I have and the other series I know that have that type of stuff in it aren't animated yet heh. I did find this but I haven't watched it so I can't comment on its quality https://myanimelist.net/anime/3230/Druaga_no_Tou__The_Aegis_of_Uruk
Like SAO Progressive which is the author redoing the first arc but they are going floor by floor doing the quests and progressing slowly through the world. Its really good but not animated.
There are a fair bit of "transported to other world and now you are in a fantasy setting with RPG elements exploring and leveling up" like Arifureta, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, and Rising of the Shield Hero but again not animated lol.

Ya, Progressive is the kind of anime I want or sounds like it would be. Leveling up, getting new weapons, a handful of cool characters facing crazy bosses etc... Too bad none of the other stuff is animated, they all sound so good ;; Thanks!

I think everyone is missing the core issue regarding Megumi. She seems remarkably focused on dicks, for example, for someone her age. That is a bit more question raising than her (common, but still misguided) ideas on how to best get Sagiri back into society.

Eh, wasn't the animation in SnK quite lackluster towards the end? I don't know, outside of Attack on Train Wit never seemed the studio with good animation to me. I expected them to put in some effort and budget, considering SnK's huge success, but as Sent mentioned before: After KonoSuba we all know that big success doesn't warrant a second season to look any good.

I don't think anyone here thinks that she wants to end the internet, I was just responding to people on Reddit/4chan. But I can't actually post on those sites because they'll just downvote me on Reddit, and 4chan would just call me a normie or some kind of racist term.
Megumi is an interesting character. She's certainly crafty.

+ Show Spoiler +As if that would ever happen... The manga is about teasing not progress. Maybe after some 200 chapters like Nisekoi.

Each day BigFan comes 1 day closer to the day he watches Bakemonogatari. Whatever that day might be. What he doesn't realize is that the same is true for his inevitable death and as long as we don't see RoboBigFan we won't see the day of him watching it due to that
