Going rehash a little of what Nagisama said earlier but I don't think you should let tropes that are used/overplayed in anime impact your understanding of Asian societal norms.
We often see onii-chan/onee-chan thrown around by and for little kids in shows and eventually this transitions into (surname/first name)-san, depending on familiarity, as they grow older. In jp, as with most other Asian cultures, honorifics play a pretty big part in everyday life. In KR/CN culture, they take it a step further, with exact distinctions for older/younger brother/sister. My younger brother has called me 哥 (older brother) while growing up and will probably continue doing so for the rest of our lives. It's more or less a familial title for me, without any overtones. You shouldn't let brocon tropes taint your interpretation of standard/everyday honorific usage.
In the case of Kuzu, Hanabi calling Narumi "onii-chan" just puts more emphasis on her adoration. This is a character that more or less took care of her while her single mother was probably busy with earning money. So it's really not that unusual for Hanabi to address Narumi so, even into high school. Besides, at the end of the series, we'll laugh about how minor this annoyance really is compared to all the things coming up, heh.

Depends on area it is just the standard way of addressing people who are older than you. Anyone who is 1-15 years older is brother-xxx sister-xxx Anyone who is 15-40 years older is uncle-xxx aunt-xxx Anyone who is 40+ years older is grandpa-xxx grandma-xxx If you refer to anyone older than you by name only (even in conversation with 3rd party) it is considered extremely impolite.

Idk what to think about Masamune ep2. The MC is pretty shit imo. Had some funny scenes, but overall very average I guess.

I actually voted there because I accidentily stumbled upon it. I actually gave Mob Psycho 100 quite a few votes because of how the categories worked. I didn't even like the show that much, except for the last few episodes, but things like animation surely go to Mob Psycho.
I like how this youtuber makes really good points but then brings Kiznaiver as example which definitely didn't have great animation. It probably wasn't bad irrc but it was more along the lines of "ok" with some sick fails.

First time i've seen a 2d fetish being less "exaggerated" in 2D compared to it's 3D counterpart

Truly beautiful (visuals + music) movie! The story is short, slow, and simple but I thought it was masterfully presented!
I believe this is my second anime/movie from Makoto Shinkai (5 cm per second). Anything else worth watching (Beside Your Name that isn't available yet)? There's the "voice of a distant star" but i'm not sure how good that is since i've only seen Kimi No Na Wa, 5 cm per sec and Garden of Words from him (which i super liked the first 2 but the 3rd one not so much)
Will check that one after my interview tomorrow! Ty

I get directed to the 720p version, without looking at the size of it I'm like "meh, not like disc space matters these days. I'll just get the 1080p version, it's BD and all!", I get redirected to 1080p coalgirls version: Size: 37.4 GB (40,145,747,154) bytes srsly? Welcome to bloatgirls. FLAC ftw.
Why the hell did FLAC ever become a thing?
That 50gb Iroha is gorgeous, though.
(I'm going to step out on a limb and guess it was a Tenshi encode.) They were getting better, before they "went on hiatus".

FLAC was nice to have for a while because people would often release bitstarved AAC audio tracks, or release it with good bitrate but fuck up the encode. FLAC was a nice "oops, I have no idea how to encode audio, oh well this will ensure the best quality" option.
But now I think everyone knows that QAAC 127 is a braindead way to get a great quality encode.
|
Unless you're watching your anime using a 7.1 surround system in a well designed acoustic room... I can't see any damn reason to go for anything over 192 Kbps MP3 encoding. If you're listening over even good stereo headphones, it's not going to blow your mind.
Anyway, when was the last time that audio quality was the main driver in watching an anime?
Nii-san or Nee-san will still sound the same at a lower bitrate. (Within reason. I'm not saying go full 44100Khz mono...)
