WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED. Like, that's some of the worst animation from something released recently I've seen...

Does the episode look like that or are they the frozen stills? I recall a DBZ thing looked similar if you froze it.

The ED/OP certainly looked a lot worse than anything else in the episode. So the episode itself doesn't look thaaaaat bad. It still looked pretty damn wonky though.
You have this for 1-2 seconds with just Aqua's mouth moving as an example: + Show Spoiler [spoilerish pic?] +

Luckily I skip the OP after the first few episodes unless I think there's some foreshadowing, or I'm just in love with the animation. Is it changing your ability to enjoy the show? :/
|
if you enjoyed s1 and it didn't hurt you you'll enjoy s2 as well and will be fine. Like I said it was mostly the OP the looked super wacky, the rest was in line with what we expected. Just kinda disappointing that they're still letting them do that after how massive 2016 was for them, so really more that than anything else for me personally.

Has anyone here checked out the Masamune-Kun No Revenge anime?
|
yeah it's very meh with some very unlikable main characters so far
one of the first things on my chopping block probably
|
|
Why would they change if they can shove out cheap animation? With shows like konosuba no one really gives a shit about animation quality as long as it's decent enough. The source comedy draws people in so why not be cheap af and rake n the monies?
I mean the profit margins in anime are supposed to be Redic small so ofc a studio would take advantage of a popular series.

I'm glad that you guys saw it. I've been reading up the manga and it doesn't look like I'm picking up the anime given how everyone doesn't like the leads. I'm sure it'll be faithful enough for both the leads to be annoying as hell.

Maybe DEEN just has their janitor do it since it doesn't seem to matter how bad they draw.

What accounts for that popularity? The... "plot?"
|
Memes. It's always memes. If you ever wonder how something is popular it's always memes.
|
Memes are pretty great, but I'm sure there are other ways of making a show popular, and that becomes more apparent if you look at the character design.

it's just really, really funny and makes fun of the isekai genre

Ah nice! Sounds like I might try it after I'm done my backlog of anime.
Which for me is substantial, and I'm sure is tiny compared to everyone else's. > Steins;Gate(7-24) > Baccano! (all of it) > Ouran High School Host Club (all of it)

There is more to animation than how good the individual frames look... the running scene / dancing scene in the Konosuba OP was drawn by a skilled individual. You may not like the final effect but it's certainly not "low budget."
When you have a lot of movement in a scene, and especially if the movement needs to convey comedy, the characters are usually going to be off-model. It hurts to think that the Konosuba, which has way more movement (read: budget) than most OPs and which does some interesting things with animation driving the comedy, is getting penalized because each frame didn't have perfect faces.

god damn konosuba starting of so good. I wanted to put it off so i could just marathon the whole thing but that first episode killd me
on another note, i have bungou stray dogs, flip flappers, and keijo downloaded for my next three to marathon...what to start with?

Because it certainly doesn't look like it was done by someone skilled to me.
