I highly doubt there will be screentime outside of the bar since Death Billiards didn't. This should be just small episodic stuff.

Last time I didn't really like any of the shows I was recommended, but I later found Samurai Champloo, so I think it's possible there are more animes out there that I haven't heard of and would like.
My favourites: Claymore, FMA, Samurai Champloo, Fairy Tail. Also enjoyed: Death Note, Naruto, Yugioh, Pokemon, Elfen Lied, AOT.
Don't like/meh: Bleach, Fate Stay Night, SAO, etc.
So I like dark animes, preferably with action/overpowered characters and good animation. Any ideas?
Shinsekai Yori. Nice music like berserk but not the "mature" grim theme. It's still pretty mystic and thrillery. Some people might even find it thought provoking.
I shit my pants out of joy every time this was played:
I am myself looking too something epic adventurous with good music/soundtracks like berserk. I have been for long time. Claymore almost was something like that I guess. Or really anything original and captivating that isn't really part of anime-culture or the industry shit doesn't show on it. There is shitloads of stuff like that but it's always harder and harader to find another.

E7 was pretty meh.. Xam'd wasnt particularly memorable considering my best memory is that stupid catchyish OP iirc.
I dont think its really worth reccing over stuff thats already in there.
Eh, I disagree, I don't profess that it's better than any of the mecha due to sheer lack of experience but as far as an action/drama or a fantasy/sci-fi show it's certainly better than a number of those that are recced in those categories.
Can yomeone explain to me what the pointed tooth that some female characters in anime have stands for? I always thought it was a sign for a tsundere but I noticed Botan from YuYu Hakusho and Chiaya from Rolling girls having one as well.

I honestly think it would be stupid for them to do that both financial and reputation-wise. They have no reason to produce a series out of an OVA if they don't deliver something new, right?

Absolutely fantastic show. It's dystopian sci-fi though. There are a whole host of good shows that aren't the moe/otaku stuff it's just people don't really bother looking deeper into anime than what they see at the surface.
I noticed a lot of people in r/anime and the MAL forums complaining about the budget for SSY, which lowered the art quality in a lot of scenes. I didn't even notice that except for once or twice, but it didn't bother me at all, and I thought they were going for a pretty minimalistic style in the first place. SSY is certainly a solid recommendation, it's fantastic (and this is coming from someone who tends to dislike dystopia).
I had forgotten that creepy little percussion piece. The music was lovely all around.

Death parade was doomed to fail financially before the first episode even aired. A show like this won't move any products. At this point, its done because they want to do it. Not because it'll be a hit. Kind of like Yuasa and Satoshi kon works.

Did you watch it when it aired? They probably fixed the issues for the BDs.
Story telling was all over the place again. Worst episode so far imho. They made a huge jump in the story between the episodes and seem to expect that the viewer somehow knew what happened in between. The second half was better though, finally explaining a few things and tying loose ends together.

OP somehow becomes better everytime. o.O
You make a good point but it hasn't become such a problem to bother me yet. Still Rolling Girls isn't amazing, just pretty good. I do really like that OP.
