I do remember someone mentioning that the source innitially had skipped a lot more of those castle stages when really I was sitting there thinking "damn, why can't they just show more of that?" as well and thought that it was anime leaving out source material.

Not anime original, but side stories. They put in side stories from later volumes to pad it out. Like the first dungeon floor boss, that murder mystery arc, everything involving Sachi, Silica, Lisbeth, and even Yui, were all side material taken from later volumes. The first volume was a pretty simple, decent story. The romance sort of came out of no where in it, but I could ignore the abruptness of it starting. But the longer the story of SAO went, the worse it got. I'm of the opinion that the inclusion of most those side stories murdered the pacing of the SAO part in the anime.

Yeah, SAO pretty much jumped into the thick of things with Kirito/Asuna starting with the ragu rabbit story. Not counting Asuna stuff, I though the Liz sidestory was the cutest. How many of you have read the Alicization arc? I read the LNs up to Alicization but couldn't get into it enough to keep reading. People say it's the best SAO arc but frankly, I've moved on. >>

But probably after I manage to obtain the better version. Currently have the one by Coalgirls (not BD), and apparently opinions from the internet say it's a shitty version. Cant find any non-torrent Thora BD version yet. crab #1 + Show Spoiler + hehe im only 2 eps in so of course it's crab ^^ but regardless I kinda like crab from the first few scenes if you can't torrent xdcc is prolly the best option http://thoranime.nyaatorrents.org/xdcclist/global/?nick=THORA|Arutha its probably not worth the effort if you already have coalgirls though, i thought you were currently just streaming it on crunchy or something

AND to piss everybody off more... I liked both arcs in SAO1. Aincrad was definitely much better but i was entertained by ALO's arc as well. GGO was good to me also if you were wondering. I just like the anime, simple as that. I do hate that by saying I like it I get thrown into a group with ignorant assholes who don't really know anything about anime outside those huge ones (bleach, SAO, naruto, onepiece).

Nothing wrong with liking trashy shows as long as you know that they are that. SAO is like Cross Ange or dxd. Trashy but fun. All you need to say is you enjoyed SAO but know it's not that great. You know so you don't sound like all those retards that think AoT is the greatest thing ever.
