The big thing that I didn't like about the second arc of SAO was that the world just wasn't interesting and the transition was too quick. GGO was fine, exciting at times and a bit boring with some episodes. I still think first arc of SAO was best though See i liked the world in ALO. I liked the addition of magic and flying, it made it more like the type of game I would play. Aincrad while not my first choice of an rpg would be something i probably wouldn't play until somebody made me then i'd fall in love with it. And I understand the "there's no death in ALO" argument but I got over it b/c Kirito still had that "can't die, can't let my friends die" mentality. So while technically they all could have died no big deal, it still had some tension in it b/c that's the last anybody wanted. | ||

Somebody told me that accel world is set in the same world as SAO just a lot later down the timeline. Id like to see a better Accel world also. Frankly I value plain wish fulfillment dutchwife more than bad writing trying to give character to wish fulfillment dutchwife. Which is basically every other female character. Though I guess the loli and asuna-friend from aincrad era is saved by not having enough appearances to get tainted further by shit writing. | ||

You realize that Progressive is literally the same thing as the Aincrad ss vols, except about Asuna and not people that don't get appearance. Actually that seems to be what you want after a fashion, but far as I was concerned, there is no point to reboot Aincrad with massive retconing just to fit that in. You can just write more silly shit past SAO and get the same effects, dutchwife ain't becoming a character with shitty ss level writing. So why bother? This is just opening up past wounds and pouring salt on them all over again as a reminder that a bad writer can't write no matter how good a concept he had originally.
