Night Raids introduction basically has nothing painting them as bad aside from people saying they bad and them killing people. All the people they kill are people that their "badness" is shoved down your face. It's pretty hard to see them as anything but good guys doing good things. They even part of a resistance movement so it's not like they just doing it for themselves. A more neutral group in another shounen would be the Zoldyck family where they do it indiscriminately for money but take no pleasure in the action. I guess comparing HxH to Akame is rather unfavorable to Akame lol. Akame ga Kill is just a typical shounen story where it's slightly more violent and set in a "darker" world. It was never a story trying to be gray. I think people just really wanted it to be that so they convinced themselves it was trying to be that. Even when it introduces more likable antagonists that seems more as a way to get you to care than trying to show two perspectives. Good description, I agree. For me, the show has been essentially about the capital being corrupt and night raid trying to fix the evil with some fun characters and bloody scenes/battles. Of course, there are people who have a false sense of justice and others like Bols who are only doing this as a job but that's that. | ||

and yes AgK is silly, they just kill people off for the sake of kiling people/character development too. I still somewhat enjoy it tho. | ||

Dam so called who Chaika's were. Guess it was pretty easy after we found out the origins of the half transformed one. This show REALLY reminds me of scrapped Princess. Seems to be escalating to global scale as well. Reading reddit people really didn't expect that reveal, guess reddit is just filled with idiots lol. It would have really liked it if the ending was to make MC-kun choose between Tu Tu Ru Ru and Kirisu. And one of them dies (whether he the one he chose or the other) or better yet both of them die as he tries to save one or two of them. The ending was too happy for my liking that everybody lives.
