Anyways for me the last few episodes felt somewhat underwhelming. + Show Spoiler +I don't remember much of toradora now but pretty sure the drama near the end didn't sit well with me. It felt a little forced.

Hmm that's a different matter I guess, though the development of Sansa is kind of like the development of your standard shit anime beta protagonist. If you start at the very bottom you pretty much have nowhere else left to go but up.

The op-ness in Argvollen isn't going to last anyways. As per the usual mecha opening, they must first display how op it is, then introduce a skilled villain with an op suit who can beat/match the mc. The real question is how long it'll take them to do that.

maybe you should just chose a random anime from the list above and just give it to them. See what his reaction is lol. That's pretty much my approach and the reason for saying I'll try out Steins;Gate on him. I'm pretty certain he won't like Madoka, he doesn't like Naruto/One Piece, he probably won't like Fairy Tail. I don't think he's made for sports anime with that "no overexcited kid pls" statement and I can't really recommend TTGL with the other stuff he said but want to stay in the casual area. So Steins;Gate by process of elimination so far sounds like a plan. Hope you keep us informed! :D

Especially when it sounds like the person will just reject everything recommended based on a limited amount of knowledge (i.e., read synopsis and watch first episode and reject it). Rejection at an early stage is fine, but I'm not sure he's familiar enough with most of the tropes to get an accurate feel at this point.
Also, most of those reasons listed for not liking a show easily applies to the shows he does like. If he's not going to be consistent with his claimed tastes and stick to ad hoc justification, then there's little point in doing so much work for nothing.

Will probably pick up the novels too. If you are just looking for character interaction, sure, except there are better stuff out there anyway. Then there is the technical aspect of it that's kind of rage inducing in how bad it is, so author stops bothering with it at some point according to ragz.
There are definitely things where the process and the character interaction carries the day and makes the whole thing good, spicy wolf isn't one of those. If all you want is moe furry flirting with Fukujun though, then you can watch basically where Koshimizu and Fukujun have roles that interact and get pretty much the same thing. At which point I suggest you just learn JP and listen to radio shows, because that's a lot better talking there and no need to try to fit in some subpar plot. All with nothing happening.

Tokyo ghoul #1 looks really promising, very nice! I can see that they will go very close with the original manga artstyle which is awesome. That ED gives me a strong PP vibe lol damn singer.
Kaneki is so 'cute' back then, knowing that he has been struggling since the very beginning and + Show Spoiler +became strong as fuck later , anime is a good revision for people who read the manga too lol.
+ Show Spoiler [big spoiler] +the girl is not dead. dont feel bad if you think she is dead because the writer tried very hard on persuading us dead and i dont think we will see her again in season1 anyway or unless this season is huge

The first season of Spice and Wolf was fine, anyway. I didn't watch the second because as a general rule of thumb I don't like studio changes (and it's a rule I'm breaking since Sengoku BASARA's third season is a different studio but screw the rules I love me some gay color coordinated samurai action) but there was nothing wrong with the anime from what I saw. Maybe in the LNs it drags or goes nowhere, but the character interaction in the first season was charming.

Well, S1 covered iirc...2 vols? Ended with the shepherd right. By S2 it was pretty suspect to say the least and the vols right after it killed me. The source did magically drag out to 15 vols so yeah.

+ Show Spoiler [toradora] + Well that was kind of the point to me. They wanted to show that these two that finally found their love for each other wanted to be together so badly that they would drop everything to run away and get married even though it was really childish to run away like that. Then it goes on to show that their not that naive and childish, i think it was hinting at Ryujii figuring it out that they didn't need to run away together, and they could just finish school and move on with their lives together and that would be the adult thing to do. THEN with his mother running away it reiterated that even adults act childish and selfish (like Taiga's father did earlier in the show and like her mother did with the voicemails she left taiga when they ran away together.)
One of the biggest themes of this show to me was "you can't run away from your problems you gotta face them head on, even if it'll hurt" and they're just reinforcing it over and over again at the end. And i think that they both got over their fears in numerous areas by the end to face their problems (Ryujii with his mother wanting him to go to college, and learning that his father left his mother when she was pregnant, his Mother finally admitting to him that his father wasn't really that great and through meeting up with her parents again after she ran away so long ago, and Taiga with giving her mother another chance, and both of them with finally admitting their love for each other)

Upfront, it seemed odd and I can understand why people criticized them for it but to me, I felt like they didn't want to lose each other (love each other a lot) but also wanted to fix their problems first (Taiga at min though Ryuji did eventually face his mom as well) which is why I didn't really see it as much of a problem in the show. They thought things through, decided on what was best to do and picked things back up (I hear) right after graduation was finished so they learned responsibility as well as a host of other things. What I'm saying is, yes, I agree with you 100% lol. Only thing I would've liked the anime to do is just go further into their life, after graduation, what happens to them. I guess something similar to Itazura na Kiss where they showed their future careers, raising a family etc... I guess also similar to Clannad's approach and ending. Apart from that, maybe more details on Taiga leaving and that whole gap until she came back but ya, still one of the better romcoms I've seen

+ Show Spoiler [Toradora] +hmm well, yes, some of the side characters got shafted but in Minori's case, she saw her best friend heartbroken in the middle of the night and such. Can't really blame her for wanting Taiga to get with Ryuji after that. You can say that the author purposely did that and it's kinda obvious lol but that's part of the story.
Ami never really stood a chance even though she had a change of heart because he just wasn't interested in her and wasn't looking in her direction even though she tried for a bit to get his attention. Considering that Ami wasn't going to get with him, is it really that farfetched to think that she would help Taiga instead? They were friends by that point so not surprising to me.
