I feel like the Major is way too human in this series. She fucks up far too often, gives into emotion a lot, and broods over a bunch of shit. Conversely, Togusa is very much like his SAC self. He was definitely the highlight of this ep. As for the plot, it was meh. The twists were pretty predictable, and they didn't even discuss any interesting topics. Even ep 1 and 2 had something going for it. I also didn't appreciate the not so subtle hint at the next antagonist. | ||

Edit: the reason he liked Evangelion apparently is because that show was "brainfuck" and because of a scene including mind-rape and the like. I instantly linked him toothbrush rape from Nisemonogatari but he has no youtube account and I couldn't find one that isn't tagged 18+ on youtube  | ||

I donno if i can rec anything for this guy b/c he doesn't understand the true brilliance that goes behind Sansa's growth throughout GoT. :/ I mean sure she's stupid and naive to start off, but she's like 14 at the beginning of GoT she's supposed to be that way. The true depth of her character are the trials she goes through in Kings landing and the growth and wisdom she gains through that and is only now beginning to show. I donno steins;gate might be ok for him. also possibly deadman wonderland (but that also has a whiny MC that takes a while to get his shit together :/ ) | ||

I made it very clear that I haven't watched Elfen Lied myself because I heard it was garbage myself And the point about the stuff being mainstream: He has no idea about anime but liked some stuff and asked me to just recommend some stuff and I told him that I'm having real troubles pinpointing what he might or might not like because like you said... the whiny little dipshit MC is just so common and at the same time he said he liked Evangelion. I get that the MC is SnK is super annoying but if you drop the show after the first episode solely because of the MC and how it makes no sense that he kicks a guard in the shin and gets away with it without getting a beating... he's going to have a hard time with anime I think. About it being mainstream anime... well that's going to happen if you have watched like 5 animes total The funny thing about the kuudere thing is that according to him kuudere is the most used "setting" for females in anime that it just annoys him because they're so overused. He doesn't seem to have a problem with tsundere's. And yes, I'm a little lost at why he still wants anime recommendations as well, I kind of stopped because I couldn't see a pattern at all but he just recently told me to give him a bunch and he'll just go through it and see what he likes So far my reclist for tomorrow for him is: 1) Deadman Wonderland (I think that'd really fit and thanks for that suggestion!) 2) Mushishi 3 Nyaruko because he said he likes "brainfuck" and I'm sure that's not the kind of brainfuck he meant because he was talking about Evangelion but whatever, he did like korezom after all 4) Ergo Proxy (because ZNF said so) | ||
