Fate/Stay Night is just + Show Spoiler + a visual novel by Nasu Kinoko that has 3 route. Anime mostly focus on Fate (Saber) route but randomly has elements from all 3 mixed in, resulting in a confusing mess.
Unlimited Blade Works is Rin / Archer arc, the movie does an OK job but it's more targeted as a service to VN reader than actually coherent. F/SN VN is fan translated and pretty easy to find, and highly recommended to understand whole Fate series.
Fate/Hollow Ataraxia is the direct sequel to F/SN, it's a fan service disk with mostly random stories and somewhat of an overall plot. It's not available in English.
Fate/Zero is the prequel novel by Urobuchi Gen. The anime is a pretty good adaptation with minor differences (mostly Rin's silly adventure).
Fate/Tiger Colosseum and Upper are PSP fighting games that's pretty much blows.
Fate/Unlimited code is PSP fighting game that's better.
Fate/Extra CCC are PSP games set alternative universe that's kind of an imagining of F/SN. They are kind of fun to play but only available in Japanese
Fate/Kaleid Liner is alternative universe manga, currently in the third arc. S1 of anime covered first arc, S2 presumably covers second.
Fate/Apocrypha is a novel by Higashide Yuuichirou that set in alternative universe that has very little to do with Fate franchise.
In addition, Fate has loose relations to Tsukihime franchise and Kara no Kyoukai.

F/HA has a tentative complete patch out, but parts of it are unedited and used machine translations (read: shit).
Fate/Extra has an official release. CCC does not.

IDK why every single time Fate stuff comes up, you feel compelled to say "Everything in this franchise other than FZ is terrible", then catch shit for it, and then correct yourself with "well I've only see a few of the anime adaptions". Its not like this is the first time. I think you just like slandering an entire franchise you have barely touched and read zero of, just so you can catch shit. So Mekaku City Actors is over; now with it's 12th episode being out.
In all honesty, the last episode was quite weak and I really didn't like it, neither music-wise nor story-wise.
As for the rest of the series: I really enjoyed it a lot. Yeah it's just shaft-pandering, Asumi Kana and jpop but it still ended up being my 2nd favorite show this season. I did like the weird way they told the story with you constantly going "Ah I finally understood what happened" after a period of not having a clue what happened and next episode it's just back to square 1 with not having a clue what's going on. But I can see how it would be a terribly boring show if you know what's going to happen, so I get the hate it's getting lol.
The thing being done by shaft and it basicly having scenes that looked copy & pasted out of Monogatari with it's design still made it interesting enough for me to like it based on that even though it's nowhere close to other things Shaft has done in that regard.
Music was good. I did google / youtube search the orignials and I've got to say that I didn't like those and I haven't listened to vocaloid songs ever before so that kind of creeped me out but the songs done "proper" were nice, catchy, pop songs. For those who aren't fanboying shaft enough to watch this, my top-3 probably is the ED from episode 6 (LiSA), also known as best song this season had to offer all in all. The one in episode 11 that went full vocaloid, and either the weird CG OP from ep 9 because it was so weird or the one in EP3. I played trombone for a crapton of years in orchestras and all that so I'm a sucker for everything pop that uses brass. So #1 and #2 are no discussion for me

Sweet it's out I will watch 11 and 12 tonight. I actually liked it for the story and characters (Ene is awesome too bad she doesn't have more screen time). Sucks the ending sounds like it will be a disappointment but we will see.
Also, speaking of the Fate universe, where do you get the lore from Sabers background as King Arthur? From the VNs? Always was curious about that since I have read snippets of her backstory and her clone and all that. Since I actually like Saber (unlike a lot of people here) I was curious where I might find it and if it's available in English.
Also is Fate/Kaleid good? It's an alternate universe so they can do w/e they'd want with it and it could just be a shitty grab for money.

Just watched it myself. Episode was great but the spell you mentioned... was probably the only thing that felt underwhelming for me lol. Idk, everyone was like "woawoahwoah shit" in the anime and I'm just sitting there "so what?".
The other ones looked a lot cooler

Are you following the manga? It's kinda- well, I'm not interested at all in the Prisma Illya original characters besides Miyu so I'm not really having much fun with it.
If you like magical girl schlock it's fine. If you're particularly attached to Illya as a character it's fine. I'm not a big fan or anything, but I watch/read because I'm a shameless fan of the Nasuverse.

ya, it was a great episode. + Show Spoiler +They could've made it even more inferno-ish lol but I think it's just the complexity of the spell that's intriguing. She melted all of the ice pill ars then shattered them all in the blink of an eye. So far, I don't recall seeing any spell with that kind of destructive power.

UBW's fine and dandy but HF has all of that fantastic Kirei and Illya, the best end and bad end, and Nine Lives.
UBW has some moments and I feel like Shirou vs Archer should be everyone's highlight of F/SN but... I'll still take HF over it.

Just finished watching Attack on Titan first season on Netflix. Was instantly hooked on it (watched the whole season in three days). Was just wondering what you guys could recommend to watch that is a similar sort of show. Google brought up Claymore but figured id ask this thread
