I meant FSN unlimited blade works, Fate Zero, FSN (the first one) and Illya (manga only). I didn't know Carnival Phantasm was part of the fate franchise. The other 3 didn't fit in my taste. | ||

Hanamonogatari (it's still a 4 episodes thing, right?) Moeboats (it's going to be awful) and that's about it. Maybe Tokyou ESP, maybe SAO 2 as it can't possibly get worse than the 2nd arc of s1, maybe Majimoji Rurumo but the thumbnail only looks good on anichart, maybe Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. I'll give Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!? a try for the sake of having something to watch with Emnjay. Hayamincest has to carry me through Summer. | ||

It started off pretty bad, but it got better. The first "arc" to make some sort of a concert performance and choir club was terribly rushed from what I remembered. Wakana though :3 so gud. | ||

Yeah, the arcs differed quite a bit in quality (Wakana's arc was really good imo). I can see why someone would think it's average, but "god awful"? Unless he meant it the other way around, which I doubt. | ||

Just so you know, I did drop it before I finished it so there may be portions that were better than others, but from what I saw it was just bad: I didn't like the flat characters who were essentially just rehashes of other girl archetypes that PA has done in the past, only with even less depth than before. The girl who was really excitable was a huge turnoff because she felt like a one dimensional Ohana (she even has the same hair) with a more somber but unoriginal back story to make her motivations sound more emotional, I didn't feel like the girl with the horse added anything valuable to the story, and the girl who was suffering the entire time was a tier above the rest but still very boring and uninteresting to watch. None of the characters brought anything to the story where I felt like I could really get invested in them. And it's not even the fact that their back stories or struggles are unoriginal. I just don't think they presented it well. Whether it's what the characters say/how they act, or how the story paces itself, I just don't think it gave me an emotional experience. I don't even think I need to mention the guys because honestly I forgot they existed. And then the story was kind of generic and the drama felt forced and superficial. I'm just not a fan of PA Works's healing anime I guess. They don't hit the right notes for me, and overall they just ooze very forced drama and uninteresting characters. | ||
