+ Show Spoiler + Yeah, the AMV is much better than the movie lol. Lots of exciting action and animation but everything else from the story to the characters was really subpar. In a lot of ways, I think there are like parallel strengths/weaknesses with like Pixar's Cars. | ||

One of the best Anime movies in the last 2-3 years ive seen. Subpar Characters and story? Its about race car drivers in the future on various planets. Sometimes you dont need a big story. Appreciate the hand drawn graphics and soundtrack of Redline so much, the main character reminds me of Travis Touchdown, highly recommend No More Heroes to anyone who enjoyed Redline. | ||

If a series requires more than one watch to "understand" it, then that is the fault of the directing in not being able to effectively communicate what it wanted to communicate with its audience. Its the same deal if an anime requires external sources in order to understand it. If you watch it, and get it, thats fine, but if they don't then that isn't the viewers fault. Agreed about Redline. If I wanted to watch something for the story or characters then I'd watch LoGH. Redline does what it set out to do almost perfectly. And that is to be a crazy, exciting story with insane hand drawn animation with a great soundtrack. Anything else on top of that would just be icing on the cake. | ||

I mean...I liked Redline, but I don't understand where you get to say "I hope you're joking about the characters because that's not what the movie is about." I don't think there's anything wrong with saying "Redline is good, but if you're not a fan of racing and gorgeous animation isn't enough to make you enjoy something, maybe you can want to steer clear of it." | ||
