Holy Gundam that was Sentenal heaven. I'm pretty sure they had every gunpla ever on display. I was taking lots of pictures and then was like screw this THERE'RE TOO MANY. (for the record, the displays went higher than I could reach so I wouldn't have been able to take well angled pics of all of them anyway...) Took lots of shots of the 1/1 gundam though but the sun made pics from the back turn out poorly. The Gundam science museum was kinda cool and seeing all the major releases all lined up made me realize just how much Gundam I've seen. There was a model of White Base too which was pretty sweet as it even had some of the inside detailed. Went in some planetarium-esque dome for a ~20 minute showing that I guess was some super general narration of Gundam themes with repeated mistakes and love on the battlefield etc. I didn't understand most of it. It had a lot of SEED images but also plenty of stuff from old UC timeline. It also showed several Unicorn battles which I think Sent would love. I couldn't tell if it was just a special for us or an actual sneak peak at the final episode since it had the RX-03 unit.
Also, the whole "sit in a gundam cockpit" was really dumb. First, you have to pay 2700 yen for them to take a picture of you. I asked if I could just go in and not buy the picture and they're like lol nope. The sign had something about 1500 yen too which I asked about and I just got more nope 2700 yen only response. Can't tell if just ripping me off cause can't Japanese. Anyway, I was really hesitant about paying $30 for it but I figured I might as well take this chance when I have it. So I pay and first of all, you don't get to sit in any cool cockpit; you just walk up stairs to the cockpit area and stand there so it loses the entire cockpit feel. Second, the controls looked really dumb like generic plastic. It certainly wasn't worth paying to see. The outside looked way cooler lol. Third, you are only there so they can take your picture and then that's it. Well, I got cool pictures out of it but I don't think it was worth it. There was one other "sit in a cockpit" place that was free but that was made out of cardboard and was 2D lol. That said, Gundam Front was still really cool, so Sent needs to go there. I'll upload pics when I get home. Leaving tomorrow.
