+ Show Spoiler + Feels like I got trolled by the creators themselves, op was misleading as hell. Main character didn't make sense, it's like watching a guy go through a visual novel and picking all the worst (or best depending on how you look at it) choices throughout to get the worst possible ending. And what's with the random backstory out of nowhere giving this guy an excuse to bang. Buildup to ending was ok, Sekai was manipulative and Makoto was being, well, Makoto. Satisfied that Kotonoha was vindicated (and insane), nice boat she was on. In my search for more bloodbath I ended up watching Higurashi no naku koro ni. The "retelling" approach they use is confusing and threw me off at first. Now I'm halfway through and have trouble sleeping. The "moe" certainly was deceptive. + Show Spoiler + I think I finally figured out it was Rika who was reciting the poems at the end of each episode. Can't remember being this creeped out and disturbed since I was five watching horror movies. It was as if I learned to fear the dark once again.

Anyone else have anything else to add about the show? Positive/Negative feedback?

But the Higurashi anime is terrible, and a huge insult to the Visual Novel, which is quiet good. Or maybe you are just creeped out by how bad the anime adaption is, I suppose that is a correct statement if you meant it that way.

They recapped neko kuro, I guess for the benefit of people that missed that when it ran, but honestly a pretty random move. I guess they'll have to stuff in at least a kizu recap (without there being a movie to recap, lawlz) at some point too if they follow that logic.

I haven't read the visual novel, but if I had to guess, the anime does include the basics in the (mysterious) way the story is told. Things that are not supposed to happen/don't make sense happens and the viewer is left guessing what is going on (whether there is a conspiracy, or *shudder* some supernatural/occult forces at work). The premise should remain the same and you get the same "ghost story" effect that leaves you with an unsettling feeling. I read creepypastas and its Russian counterparts to lighten up, but Higurashi just left me with a more profound effect than most. Sadly, there'll probably be no Russian version of it and I'm still left feeling uneasy. I can try to destroy the immersion by reminding myself everything is fiction. But even that can prove difficult at times, especially when one is alone in the dark, and hear a sound behind one's back... I think I'll check out the visual novel with the lights turned off.

Just as an FYI, the original VN had really shitty artwork, so if you would rather it look like the right side of the following picture than the left side, and you can't find the PS2 patch online, PM me and I'll see if I can give it to you. + Show Spoiler + ![]()

It's just that past advertisements have "coincidentally" turned out to be true. Like old sci-fi ideas becoming a reality. D: But I do want my crowbar figurine.

The PS3 patch for Umineko changes the experience of the game way too much, IMO. The Higurashi PS2 patch, although it does change the art, it also patches in music that didn't make the MangaGamer release due to licencing stuff. And Higurashi/Umineko music is top tier (and yet another crime the Higurashi anime commited, since the anime had shit music)

One of the fun things about Horizon was to see how the Chronicles factions/characters manifested themselves in different areas so many years later. The 3 Mouri maids gave me a good laugh when they first showed up, they were like bloody carbon copies lol. Random note about Horizon, so sad that we haven't been getting nearly as much of the sewer beasts since the first few vols, they were so good in anime form too qq

+ Show Spoiler + Also didn't expect the double murder... but I guess its only logical since they don't have many episodes left... I'm not sure who did it... I can't even think of a clue The computer though? What could be its meaning? Latest episode of Shingeki : I felt like the entire episode was about people on horses moving around and shooting flares... The pacing feels very unequal, I don't know why. Latest episode of Kamisama : I was skeptical about this anime at first. but as the story progresses, I think I am sold! The only thing that bothers me : + Show Spoiler + everytime I expect a real villain appearing, I am disappointed. I was expecting the village of dead to turn against Ai and party... Or Kirito to defend the "secret"... It felt like Kiriko says : "I deceived Ulla so that I will be able to live with her forever, and all the world shall die, muhahahha." and then suddenly, Ai says : "Oh noes, you can't do that, I'm going to tell Ulla about your evil plans" Kiriko : "No, you musn't!!!!", but let her anyway... I was really expecting Kiriko to attempt to stop/kill her. But I guess this anime is not violent(?) EDIT: Anyone know whats the name of the soundtrack at the start of the episode of Kamisama? I'd like to listen to it if any version is out :S
