Finished Crest/Banner now. What I didnt like, was the fact, they started the season with a foresight of the end... What I absolutely love, is the amount of effort the creators put into the characters and especially into the battles and tactics...holy cow that is insane how clever those are worked out.
So,a big PLUS for this one, sad I am through...wanna see if there are children ^^

Staying at friend's for Chinese New Year, blocked in by Blizzard and drinking home brew mead Izayoi-san so OP, reminds me of Sin from Magi. Yeah he is pretty OP, but he also rarely see any action. He usually let his harem do all the dirty work for him. What happens when you make an OP character; you can't use them lol. But I wonder + Show Spoiler +If he's really human. The one vampire just shrugged when the other girl asked, so maybe that's some foreshadowing he's not. Or I'm over thinking things.
Finally an OP character though seems so rare to have one these days. Also reminds me of Layfon and Ryner.

So,a big PLUS for this one, sad I am through...wanna see if there are children ^^ I haven't finished them yet but Crest/Banner or are based off of science fiction books. The Banner series is currently four books and is still ongoing. The Banner anime only covers the first three books as far as I know, probably because the fourth book wasn't released when they were doing the anime. So, it's possible there could be more in the future. Remember I haven't finished them yet so please do not spoil.

By ongoing you mean the author is dicking around for the last like 8 years and not doing shit, occasionally messing with short stints on other works at best.

As for the start umm...what's the big deal lol. Things are in a language you can't comprehend and scene is pretty much disjointed from everything else till the end.

Read a few vols, I am just thinking Index's Kamijyo Touma w/ brains and physical strength to back up bullshit ability on top of everything. imo series should just concentrate on sexy shots of bunny.

+ Show Spoiler [Chihayafuru S2 05] +I love how Chihaya is like a main driving force in the Karuta competitive scene. We got to see her grow up from being an amateur to what she is now. How everyone reveres her when shes in a match up. Its just, god... Its amazing.
Honing in on the strengths of the Queen and the Master... Fcking nerd chills if I ever had one.

+ Show Spoiler [crest/banner] +It is not about the language, it is about the fact, it gave too much of a hint what will happen in the end and so it became pretty clear when the end of the episodes came closer =/ was a small bummer for me tbh. But still, a great anime

Finished Sharnoth. Was okay, at least it doesn't feel like it was a waste of time. Inganock was about a thousand times better, though. It has grown a bit on me now that it's been a few days since I finished it. I really liked + Show Spoiler +the "twist" about Porshion being the "real" PoV/main character.
Started reading Chaos;Head. Man, the staking scene is too good, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the VN. I wonder how much having watched the anime ruins stuff though (luckily I don't remember far too many details).
Oh, and that moment when I look at his shelf with figurines and the only ones I recognize are from Tsukihime and F/SN, lol.
And one nice thing about Nitro+: Itou Kanako songs! Me like.

Just spent the last week speeding through Umineko.

So I finished watching Juuni Kokki aka 12 Kingdoms which I found through the recommendation list. It was interesting, but I still have some mixed feelings.
I did like the concept of the world even if it was a bit too fantastical at times. The premise of show is that the world is divided into 12 kingdoms with a ruler chosen by a servant of the Heavens a Kirin, a mythical beast who can turn into a human and also control a small amount Youma. As long as that ruler lives Youma will not be a problem, the land will not face natural disasters and the land will be fertile. The King/Queen themselves becomes immortal unable to die from aging and are aided in their rule by the Kirin as well as other people who they can make immortal too who can serve as councils as administrators. The kingdom can fail if the ruler or their Kirin dies however there is no war between nations as it is not allowed by the Heavens, but civil war and Coup d'état are still a problem. The kingdom can also fail by poor rule as the land will start to become unhealthy and it becomes really bad they will be punished by Heaven. However the series shows how their can still be problems in this paradise as the Heavens do not punish people until the land goes really bad (it's never shown in the anime) so for example when one King starts executing people who break any law no matter how small the people revolt and kill him instead of waiting for Heaven.
Anyways the series focuses on Youko a timid schoolgirl in Japan who is brought into the world of 12 Kingdoms by the Kirin who picks her to replace a ruler who has died. Unfortunately it's not a smooth transition as the Kirin is followed by Youma who want to stop him and two of Youka's school friends get dragged into 12 Kingdoms too and separated from the Kirin. During Youko's journey she must survive a foreign and hostile world as people from Earth are considered demons, struggle with the relationship with her friend and battle a literal inner demon who knows her darkest thoughts. For this reason I considered dropping the anime as it was very depressing until she does defeat her inner demon and achieve some character growth. It doesn't stop with the character trials there, but at least there was an upside which is rather interesting to follow as she struggles whether she should lead a Kingdom, becoming Queen then successfully ruling her Kingdom.
If it were just Youko's story it would be a nice little anime the problem it spends a lot of time on other story lines that are never as well done. The source material for 12 Kingdoms is Light Novel that focuses on a character for each book, but the anime filters all information through Youko who is the main character for the anime. The Taiki arc for example is blatantly ignored after a point even though they spend a long time introducing it, but at the very least they did a decent job with King of En. Though reading about 12 Kingdoms it was supposed to be a 68 episode series but was cancelled at 45 and the most likely speculated ideas are creator poor health or the show losing its audience by having story arcs without Youko.

I don't think Ono is coming back to 12 kingdoms. She wrote one short story 4 years ago, and since then has been doing a bunch of little horror short stories. I wouldn't want to complete the series that stressed me out so much because my fans were so crazy that I had a stroke either.
I still mad though.
If you'd like another series that literally never ended I recommend Shikabane Hime.

I remember losing interest in those very quickly. Admittedly they were pretty catch at the time.

Oh 12 Kingdoms Light Novel ended on bad terms? Even though I'm probably not going to read it that's disappointing to hear.
I watched Shikabane Hime anime around when it aired. It's been a while so I forget exactly what happens but I thought it was decent so maybe I'll check the manga. Though I'm not sure how 12 Kingdoms and Shikabane Hime are related in anyway except the female lead.

They're related in that they don't actually end. The 12 Kingdoms LN never ended, the novels just stopped in the middle of the story and she hasn't written anything except for a 20 page short story in 12 years. The 2nd season of Shikabane literally just ended without conclusion, as if there were 2 episodes they just decided not to air. Banner/Crest LNs and the Nana manga are the same way, nothing new in years. It's not like these LNs/Manga weren't popular, Authors are either lazy (banner/crest/Ono) or sick (nana). I have no idea what happened with Shikabane though I heard it was budgeting problems. Which is weird because it sold well.

Quick question about Sharin no Kuni,
If you want to get the most enjoyment, is it a good idea to get Sachi End, then Touka End, then Natsumi End, then Ririko?
Or is it best just to play through all of it with the intent of getting the Ririko End since I heard that ending is the best as expected out of AkabeiSoft?
