Should I also assume that a book can be enhanced by better font? Surely there are cases where image quality would enhance an experience, and I've outlined some of them. Cute girls, or robots, or huge explosions, or impressive action sequences. In those cases, I would agree, maybe watching on a big screen might enhance your enjoyment, though its extent is questionable, imo. I also don't really care all that much about any of those to the point where I'd be begging to see any of them on larger screens. If an anime is good, I don't think it needs to rely on small nuances in size/quality (especially since a lot of times I'm focused on reading subtitles and ignoring some of the periphery) to be visually appealing. And just because I'm watching an anime on a smaller screen doesn't mean it automatically reduces the quality to the point where things become unwatchable. Are you trying to tell me that having better sound quality will not improve how good a piece of music sounds? And your example about font is a really flawed example. Books are a medium that uses words and language to convey a story, not font. Better use of language improves whats trying to be done with it. Similarly, anime is a medium that uses images and animation (among other things) to tell a story. Better images/animation improves the experience. I don't know why you are wasting your time with anime if you don't care about the visual elements that come with it. Why not just read books since you don't care about how things look?

I don't know why you are wasting your time with anime if you don't care about the visual elements that come with it. Why not just read books since you don't care about how things look? I'm saying that to some it's not as big of an issue as to whether or not you like a piece or not. Does it make it sound better? Maybe, but there are definitely those who can't tell an issue between FLAC and mp3s. Call them plebs, but most people simply don't bother with higher quality music because frankly they can't tell the difference. And on the topic of words/language, are you saying that anime doesn't use language to convey a story? Pretty sure dialogue and sounds play a role, if not just as big a role in a lot of anime as visuals do, at least in good anime that aren't just eye candy to the viewer. I also never said I don't bother with the quality. I just don't see what's the big deal with watching anime on a phone and sacrificing marginally small image quality for being able to watch on the go. Why is that important if I can still see what's happening on my screen? Unless there's some kind of important symbolism or foreshadowing that I would miss because I didn't catch a detail or pixel, I really don't know why people always exclusively download 1080p as if their life depended on it, because I never do. I can understand if you want to see every last detail and admire the art, but I can do that without needing extremely high quality images in front of me.

1. I'm too lazy to convert to a format for my phone 2. It's a larger screen 3. I don't have to keep holding on to the screen to watch it, it's kind of sitting nicely on my desk. Only positive I see for viewing anime on your phone is portability. Nothing else.

Example: I loved the first 8 episodes of Texnohlyze and those are apparently really slow. I don't mind the animation in Steins Gate, but it is strange, sort gives it a weird otherworldy feel. I like it now that I think about it when I'm not almost asleep. (what I'm talking about is the glowiness). K, just finished episode 2. Already clutching my asshole.

Biggest complaint about it is that we should've gotten some more time/screentime to get attached to him for real. As for what they saw/what the siby system is.. if it's a ripoff of minority report I'll be disappointed. R;N: + Show Spoiler + Ohshit. What do you do, when your legs are not your own? Good scene, imo. And don't worry, Pleiades has to be immortal.

What I don't understand is how she got all mangled. From the looks of it, she was attacked physically and brutally. My personal hypothesis is that chief herself knew ahead of everyone else that Nona tower was going to be attacked and went down to the basement to protect the system herself. When Choe and his gang showed up, they took down the old lady too quickly for her dominator to respond but forgot that she isn't actually a human being by this point. Perhaps this is the "final door" that Choe was referring to? Or did Chief encounter something else along the way to the sybil system's core? Either way, this week's episode was amazingly good. Still a good amount of episodes to go so I'm excited to see where this leads. Also, just realized that they updated the chart on the OP. ahha. was beginning to wonder if that was ever going to change.

Right before she killed that hacker guy, he fired some shot of like acid or something at her that was supposed to kill and melt her, except for the fact that she was a robot! Not too surprising that the last boss was the Sibyl System itself, it was pretty much a given right at the beginning of the series. That, and the Chief was really shady by the end of the last episode. Was surprised how she was really a robot though. Poor Kagari T.T

Poor Kagari T.T + Show Spoiler + Best character dying rip in pieces Also I'm pretty sure Shogo knew he was going to get captured (he had nowhere to go from the top) and it's all according to keikaku. The only thing he failed at was killing kogami. Well animated fight, too. Kagari ;_; + Show Spoiler [R;N] + Well, shit finally got real. MISTAH PLEIADES hopefully and probably survived, but still. damn. It's pretty much like Chaos;Head with a message (only this time it's kagome kagome) that ends in a beep, this time it's not controlling their brain but just their electronics.

Anyway, look at it this way: What makes a novel different from manga? Manga uses pictures. What makes manga different from anime? Anime takes pictures and animates them, and gives it sound (I imagine sound would also be alot worse on a phone's speakers too, idk). So I would think that if you don't care about that stuff, you wouldn't be watching anime, and would instead be reading books. "Eye candy" is an important part of anime, and one of the things that makes anime what it is. And I don't really see how one could appreciate it if it was reduced to a screen thats a couple inches wide. I don't think eye candy is always as important as you make it sound. Again, personally as this does not apply to all, but I don't think I'd be more excited watching Lafiel in 1080p or something. It's a great anime, and I loved it, but I got something like 480p or 720p or something like that, and I just don't feel like an increase in quality/size would have made me appreciate the anime more. Because I liked Crest of the Stars for its writing, concept, and characters. The space battles were cool, but what made them cool were the strategic calls made by the commanders before and during battles. So yeah, I agree that anime is pretty influenced by visuals, but I don't think there are so many anime that rely so much on their visuals to the point where watching them on a smaller screen would change my scoring of them. I do think there are anime that I might prefer to watch fullscreen, so I'm not contending you on that point, either, but the point is that either way, preferences aside, it wouldn't affect my score. And for the record, you're right, I have been reading more manga recently as opposed to watching anime if there's a manga form. If there's a LN form, I try grabbing that as well.
