Starting Black Lagoon, the dub is good which is nice. From what I've read the anime sticks close the manga, but does it still get an anime specific ending?

I'm glad the anime lasted almost to the end of the manga. Although it's annoying to have to try and search for information how to transition from animes to the manga. I can find the answers by randomly googling or posting in a manga forum/TL, but I wish there was a database or something. Starting Black Lagoon, the dub is good which is nice. From what I've read the anime sticks close the manga, but does it still get an anime specific ending? Watch sub not dub. Please. Maybe it's because I watched sub first but dub didn't feel good to me. Anyway, I'm not entirely certain of how the manga goes (reading it is on the to do list), but I think it simply hasn't "caught up" to the manga. There is no "ending" to the anime. Black Lagoon was actually my first anime except from pokemon etc, so I enjoyed it a lot. Season two spoiler: + Show Spoiler + when the yakuza girl killed herself with a katana through neck...

In my opinion some of the fight scenes are kinda weird in the anime, but that's cause they are exactly the same as in the manga. So they just look kinda weird done with animation. But Black lagoon is good.

I see one reason for someone to watch dubs at least for Black Lagoon and that's if they can't stand engrish which they will have to listen to in the 2nd season lol. Also the anime pretty much did catch up with the manga with the Roberta Ovas. The manga is on standby right now. It started into a new arc but only a few chapters.

The art, compared to other mangas, is so so for me. But the story is top notch. At first, story seems light, but then it becomes more serious!

+ Show Spoiler + Hellsing dubs were pretty decent imo. Original still always 100 times more preferable for me. Downloading Psycho Pass at the moment. I wonder what I'm getting myself into. :F It isn't even completely aired yet. e: hoho I wasn't aware that kana is voiceacting here. Pleasant surprise.

The big problem with watching dub is that you don't know if it's decent or just atrocious beforehand, and often time when you find out it's too late. Have some godawful memory of watching dub in college with friends, it's 100x worse when you already watched original.

Never watched that dub >.< On January 24 2013 10:03 Carnivorous Sheep wrote: Is it? After a few years you can recognize most of the well known ones pretty easily. Well it's different in US I guess.
