Because he can he doesn't give a fuck. Now a thousand tons or a million.. well that's a bit too much. This is why he takes the weight off and holds it in front of him. It all makes sense if you take a few minutes and flex those brain muscles. You just have to be willing to think it through.
you don't just lift 10 tons he's just using a devil fruit

It takes someone like God Usopp to lift 10 tons.

Now I just realized why Luffy and Usopp had their fight, the D clan is God's natural enemy, ofc Usopp couldn't win.

10 tons is like an elephant. You don't think Mach Vise, the "big guy" of the donquixote family can lift an elephant? We've seen characters like Jozu toss iceburgs that would weigh 100 elephants. Even zoro has lifted a house before and he's not even a "strong man" type character.
|
Zoro is usually training with big ass weight..
|
Back in Skypiea Luffy punched Enel with the Golden sphere attached to his hand. Assuming the sphere is as tall as he is, it weights around 50 tons. In fact in some scenes its looks much bigger than he is which would make it even heavier. Even Mr. 4 who's basically a chump swings around a 4-ton bat. I don't think 10 tons is anything remarkable in the world of One Piece.
|
Yea I'm pretty Zoro was like Arm curling and doing hand stand pushups with at least a couple tons of weight and that was pre time skip... Lifting something like 10 tons isn't exactly a spectacular feat for new world level guys...
|
10 tons is way more than enough for God Usopp to one shot every opponent.

what makes you think Zoro isn't a "strong man" type character?

luffy and zoro aren't supposed to be reference they aren't small fry like vise is

He means that Zoro doesn't fight using just strength, like say, Burgess. Zoro is a swordsman.

I mentioned Mr. 4 who's basically the definition of small fry, and he can swing around his 4 ton bat easily.

Zoro is a strength-based Swordsman. Any time we see him train, its with an absurd amount of weights.

He isn't an agility type. He puts a lot of weight and strength into his swings and you won't see him moving like Cavendish (and his alter ego).

Pretty much this. The idea that you need a huge sword to be "strength" based is ludicrous. Just because a weapon isn't huge doesn't mean you can't use it with a lot of power. And Zoro has clearly always emphasized power.

Didn't Brook even say something about Zoro being a strength based swordsman like Ryuuma in their fight?
|
id say hes more skill then strength

But what type of skill is he based on. I think we can all agree Zoro has some mad skills when it comes to his abilities but he's definitely using his inner strength physically or mentally to do what he does.
