The real question is what made cora not snitch on Law this should of been before he knew about the D. Does maybe have something to do with whatever he was reading here. http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/762/16

if hes secretly working against DD then he wouldnt want DD to kill a kid over something like that

or maybe he planned to blackmail him with that later

if corazon at this point already had the ope ope no mi and removed his own heart from his body and kept this information from doflamingo, it would be in his best interests to not let doflamingo about him being attacked by law

"you of all people must not be anywhere near doflamingo" this can actually be interpreted as one of 2 things:
1. law is a threat to doflamingo and can harm doflamingo
2. law is an invaluable asset for doflamingo's evil plans which corazon is trying to oppose

given that law did say to doflamingo "i'm going to finish what corazon started", in my opinion number 2 is more likely. doflamingo's intentions are to destroy mariejois and take revenge on the celestial dragons and it could be that doflamingo was trying to train a D. into the warrior that would destroy them.

But what would corazon's intentions be? Law is trying to get doflamingo to fight kaidou, to defeat the yonkou, whereas doflamingo is trying to avoid conflict with kaidou. but doflamingo would rather piss off a marine admiral, the 2nd leader of the revolutionary army and many more stronger people than to face kaidou. Is kaidou really that powerful? Or maybe doflamingo needs kaidou to take on mariejois? Maybe mataza is right about kaidou being kai d.ou? and maybe corazon's intentions are to try to protect mariejois and the celestial dragons for some reason?

No, you got it wrong. Doffy doesnt just want to destroy Mariejois, he wants to throw the ENTIRE world into complete chaos. He probably regards kaido armed with a smile army as the perfect tool to achieve this.

invaluable would be too far, Dofla doesnt really seem to be pulling punchs now

its also possible that Corazon is working with a 3rd party that is using Doflamingos vengeance as a tool (pretty unlikely) and this 3rd party is concerned that Law will either somehow diffuse Doflas hate

alot of people have pointed out the similarities between corazons eye and ikanov, maybe Corazon is working with dragon and they plan for Doflas to begin his revolution and use it as a smokescreen for there own plans and thats why they have agents in dressrossa?

Corazon's eye makeup is very reminiscent of Alex from Clockwork Orange + Show Spoiler +
[image loading]
combined with Joker's mouth from the Batman series. Alex from Clockwork Orange has an extremely well-known look that surely Oda knew about and even the One Piece wikia notes the similarities. His look is probably separate from Ivankov and the revolutionaries.

Alex was a bad guy who eventually got caught doing bad things and then went through some extreme therapy and reformed. Some of his old criminal pals turn on him after he is reformed. There is quite possibly a hint at Corazon's future in the parallel to Alex.
Playing better than standard requires deviation. This divergence usually results in sub-standard play.

After reading mangastream's chapter, that blind guy from the mob looks a LOT like Fujitora.

I don't understand Corazon at all. Why did he cover for Law? Why did he then cover for Doflamingo? I also really like Doflamingo now, I'm going to feel bad if he loses.

What is with people with the Will of D? A will can be inherited, but it can also be inherited by someone who isn't a D. So what makes them special? Let's see, we've had several Ds already:

Monkey D Luffy
Monkey D Garp
Monkey D Dragon
Trafalgar D Water Law (apparently Water is also a problem)
Jaguar D Saul
Gol D Roger
Portgaz D Ace / Gol D Ace
Portgaz D Rouge
Marshall D Teach

Suffice to say, Whitebeard did say Blackbead will be incapable of inheriting Roger's will. Now, in the past, the Marines have had two people with D: Garp and Saul. So this means that the Marines (and by extension, the world government) isn't on a man-hunt with everyone with D in their name. They also trusted Blackbeard for a bit, as a Warlord. However, once the Marines turn on a D, they go bat-shit crazy against them. Dragon is mosted wanted man in the world, Luffy was personally chased after 3 admirals at Marineford after those same Admirals (and Sengoku) did everything in their power to kill Ace. They almost considered killing Ace to be more important than killing of Whitebeard.

Suffice to say, it seems that the WG considers people with D in their name as more dangerous than others. If they can keep such people close (as Vice Admirals or Warlords), then fine. If they can't, they'll try to eliminate them. I'm guessing that people with D are those who originated from the Great Kingdom.

The Celestial dragons must have a bone to pick with those people and by extension, so must Doflamingo. However, Corazon doesn't (he could have just killed Law). The question is why the Celestial dragons (originated from the 20 kingdoms that took out the Great Kingdom) have a bone to pick those people with D. There is also the question of why the original 20 kingdoms had a problem with the original great kingdom? Afraid of its strength? there must be another reason since the nefertari family also partook in fighting against the Great Kingdom.

So, what's the problem? Where the three great weapons used to take out the Great Kingdom? e.g. Atlantis?

I need next chapter.

interesting find. similiar coat, and why else would he be clouded him in darkness when the other flashback characters are visible?

Relying on mangapanda or mangareader for clean pages is always a bad choice :D

Check out the better visually scanned pages on mangastream a few hours later.

For example your page http://readms.com/r/one_piece/763/2567/6
You can now clearly see the person

PS : epic chapter, OP really is getting more interesting the longer it goes, doesnt happen often to a story =)

no not suffice to say, Dragon leads (pretty much) the only organized army that plans to actually take them down (that we know of)
Ace was the son of there most hated enemy ever (Gol D roger) and finishing off his bloodline was important to them
and Luffy is the son of there most hated enemy (currently) so theyd want to prevent from eventually joining them plus busted open impel down and destroyed enies lobby

its not because of the D in there name its because of there bloodline and what theyve done

It's also hard to know how many people in the Marines actually know what the Will of D is and about its dangers.

That's what the WG wants you to believe, you've succumbed to their propaganda mate.

No, seriously, I see your point. However it's Doflamingo's apparent problem with D people (for lack of a better name) that made me craft this theory. It's just that, a theory. I can't verify or prove what I say with the information we have right now. It's possible that the WG specifically has a problem with D people, they just aren't vocal about it. e.g. Gol D Roger's name became Gold Roger. The D fell out somehow. Now we have Law who kept his own D a secret, "Water"' as well. What's up with that?

I'm not saying it's the Marines who have a problem with D people, I'm saying it's the celestial dragons and / or the gorosei.

Mangastream has posted more information about their last chapter (similar to last week's post about lead poisoning).

http://mangastream.com/blog/59#disqus_thread (text in spoiler)

+ Show Spoiler +
Hello there everyone, voxanimus again. You were all so kind in your comments on my last blog post that I thought I'd do another one. Well, that and this week's One Piece chapter has yet again a lot of stuff I want to talk about. I think.

Anyway, let's get the more lighthearted stuff out of the way. Several characters' full names were revealed this week, and I wanted to give some background on the references contained therein. Corazon's real name is Rocinante, or the name of Don Quixote's horse in the eponymous book. Law's name contains two references to the Napoleonic Wars: the Battle of Trafalgar is a naval engagement in which British forces led by Horatio Lord Nelson sunk 22 French ships without losing a single of their own. "Water Law" is a transliteration of the Japanese pronunciation of "Waterloo," the name of the battle in which Napoleon was defeated once and for all. Japanese has a habit of using the native pronunciation of a word when adopting it into Japanese; the Belgian pronunciation of Waterloo is closer to "Water Law." This means that transcriptions of the name as "Watel" and the like are clearly wrong. On the heels of this fact, I would like to make a request to all of you readers. Please refrain from commenting other scanlation groups' translations—be it of names, attacks, or dialogue—in the Mangastream comments section. I find it disrespectful to not only my work but that of our other translators. We spend no small amount of time and effort trying to come up with the most faithful and appropriate renderings we can of these manga, and to ignore that work is not very nice, to say the least.

Now, let's talk a little about the main underlying reference of this week's chapter. Again, though, to understand it, we need a bit of historical background.

Following Japan's defeat in World War II, the Allied Forces insisted, as part of the war reparations, that Japan move away from its imperial government and towards a more democratic one. Pursuant to this goal, Emperor Hirohito was required to issue a statement officially renouncing his status as living god, which would thereby decrease his monarchical right to sovereignty and pave the way for the writing of a new Japanese Constitution that would formally enshrine democratic power as the de facto arbiter of Japanese politics. The Emperor and the Japanese royal family would remain as mere symbols of the Japanese government, with little real power. The name of this declaration was 人間宣言 (にんげんせんげん, ningen sengen), which means "declaration of humanity." Sound familiar?

It is certainly very evident that Doflamingo's father's descent from the Holy Land and attendant renunciation of holy status is at least superficially similar to that performed by Emperor Hirohito following World War II. But the similarities do not run as deep as they did last week. Doffy's father's reverse apotheosis, if you will, caused his family to fall into ruin, as they were preyed upon by those they used to rule. Yet, on the other hand, Hirohito's renunciation of divinity was, at least in the long run, a very good thing for Japan. It allowed for the appointment of a Japanese Prime Minister and governance power to rest almost wholly in the hands of the three branches of the Japanese government.

In truth, though, Japan was actually occupied by Allied forces (in effect, the United States) and the majority of the governmental and economic reforms implemented following the war were done so at the behest or even command of the occupying forces. While it is probably not disputable that the long-term consequences of Allied occupation of Japan were beneficial, the attitude of the average Japanese citizen towards the occupation itself is less clear-cut. Some believed that the somewhat ham-fisted occupation's use of power hearkened back to the pre-Meiji days of the shogunate.

Ultimately, I cannot say whether or not Oda is trying to critique, using Doflamingo's family as a foil, the treatment of Japan at the hands of America following the Japanese emperor's renunciation of holiness. I was neither alive during the occupation period nor have I been to Japan and had a chance to talk with Japanese people about this. In addition, attitudes toward these sort of political issues vary from generation to generation, and I know not which generation's reaction Oda is calling upon. What do you think? Leave your opinion, or any suggestions or feedback, in the comments below.

Stay frosty, friends.

- voxanimus

TL:DR - Corazon's real name is Rocinante, or the name of Don Quixote's horse in the eponymous book. Law's name contains two references to the Napoleonic Wars: the Battle of Trafalgar and the Battle of Waterloo (or Water Law...). Prior to WW2, the Japanese Emperor, Emperor Hirohito, had to renounce his status as a living god. The name of this declaration is translated as "declaration of humanity", the name of chapter 763. This could be a possible parralel to DF's Dad renouncement of being a Celestial Dragon.
If anyone has any serious prayer requests please PM me. Thx.

It seems like this thread's second biggest joke may have some legitimacy to it.

http://www.onepiecesecretcabinet.com/crocodile-was-a-woman.html

Note it doesn't say that he is Luffy's Mom, but it does provide at least some evidence to why he could of been a women. Interesting nonetheless.

It looks like Eiichiro Oda based the 7 ORIGINAL Shichibukai off the SEVEN Heroes from the 1993 Japanese game Romancing SaGa 2. Below you can see the seven original Shichibukai and who was most likely their inspiration.

Rocbouquet - The queen of an island of warrior woman who has a temptation skill that charms men. (Hancock)

Kujinshi - He steals souls and can create zombies. (Moria)

Dantarg - A 'tyrant' who modified his body to become stronger. (Kuma)

Bokuohn - He controls people like puppets. (Doflamingo)

Subier - A half octopus merman who controls the flow of the ocean to use as a weapon. (Jinbei)

Noel - A powerful swordsman with a strict code of honor. (Mihawk)

Wagnas - He doesn't have sand powers, BUT his plot is that he wanted to find an ancient inscription telling the location of a powerful weapon so he could take over a country. (...Crocodile?)
...And apparently he is both male and female. (Something like a male soul possessing a female body.)

Now, does this mean that the secret that Ivankov knows about Crocodile could be that he was once a woman. Making Crocodile a female soul possessing a male body?

If anyone has any serious prayer requests please PM me. Thx.

Well there have been at least 2 D in the Navy and they were both Vice Admirals. Hell Garp is even considered a hero, though Saul did end up defecting.

I think the reference to Wagnas could be a combination of Crocodile and Nico Robin though. At the time of introduction of each of the original Shichibukai, none of the others has subordinates who has as close ties to, or played as in important role as the case was with Crocodile and Robin.

Yeah, the Croc is a woman(and maybe Luffy's mother) is actually not confined to this thread on this forum, unlike Enel.
That would make Croc the most massive Tsundere character ever.

"St-st-stupid son! I don't want to kill you, so please just stop rescuing Alabaster."
And in the end he/she just fights half-assedly an gets beaten up by Luffy.

Would explain how we are supposed to think Crocodile is actually a very capable fighter despite being the first shichibukai Luffy takes down quite early in the series.
Croc couldn't go all out against his/her only child.

but i really like the idea of him being a human before meeting Ivankov!

Maybe D is for 'Dragons' - but of another kind. So you have Celestial Dragons, then this 'other' Dragon maybe 'Earthly Dragons'. *shrug*
