Theory time: I'm thinking Doflamingo might have known of a family of Ds in Flevance, which the WG wanted to get rid of covertly. It may also be why he's taken such an interest in Law. He may suspect that Law is a D and he needs to use a D to get back at the Celestial Dragons who exiled him or possibly the whole world. Corazon doesn't want that revenge, which is why he's telling Law to stay away from Doflamingo.

And knowing about the D. he actually dragged him to a safe place to talk to him about it. He says: "You of all people must not be anywhere near Doflamingo" (Iirc, Corazon is supposed to be mute? Or just doesn't talk much at all (first time Law hears him talk at least))

Now this prompts me to believe that Corazon is some kind of a traitor or spy to begin with. Looking at his facetattoos, he could be linked to Dragon but let's not go that way.
So what happens next is clear, Corazon eventually dies and Law defects but has the will of Corazon. First time this character was introduced, there was a sort of tension between the 3 of them.

I believe that Corazon is on the side of the D.'s and not the Celestial Dragons. I think that these were once the 2 families that ruled the world. Now I also don't want to go into detail with that but Corazon wants to protect Law from Doflamingo. So he will keep the D. a secret and continue to groom Law into what he is now. (don't know what happens with Buffalo and Baby5 knowing about the D.)

I can't seem to get my thoughts together today so I'll stop here and hope you guys can build on this.

If you look at the middle frame he is looking back and forth for who spoke in the top left frame. and then becomes very shocked when he discovers it was cora who was supposedly mute.
