Will you promise that he will come back?

I would give a lot of things to read a long masterpiece as good as One Piece once more from the beginning withouth knowing everything about it already.
sixduck will return a different man to us :D

Contemplating to reread One Piece once again. I remember the last time was fun throughout, except for the Alabasta arc. I somehow don't like it, as it takes fooooooooooooreeeeeeeveeeeeeeer and I don't remember anything of value happening. + Show Spoiler +Oda introduces seastone as material, Ace, Nico Robin, Shichibukai and pony glyphs(ironic misspelling). Everything else is background to a country and people in that country to which we will never return with the story. Feels very much like a standalone story to me, isolated from the rest of the manga. But this is just a minor gripe, considering I would get to reread the first Buggy fight, the Baratie arc, Arlong Park, Skypiea arc, Sogeking Usopp arc(also known as Water7, but Sogeking really is the highlight), Thriller Bark, Impel Down and all the ones I'm forgetting. Also there is a chance to find more details foreshadowing things to come by rereading.
You know what, I'm starting right now.

You're kidding right? Alabsta set the tone for the rest of One Piece. It's not a 'standalone' part, it's pretty much the first real part of One Piece.
Not that One Piece doesn't have 'standalone' arcs - Skypiea is pretty much entirely an isolated adventure, that didn't make it any less amazing.

Wiper from Skypiea one of my fav characters :p Dunno why but I liked him alot

Skypia also had the first appareance of Obervation Haki, Roger Pirates have been there too and most importantly a porneglyph. 400 chapters later Robin reveals that it revealed the location of one of the ancient weapons; Poseidon on Fishmen Island.

I've reread through 3 times... may have to do another. Once after we got to thriller bark, then again after the war, and then after fishman island.
It's great... you always catch more details than the previous time since you know the story already

Skypie also had scariest devil fruit we've ever seen.
Rumble Rumble fruit, Enel!

I love the manga, and nowadays its the only thing i read but, from someone that found out about One Piece from the anime since 8 years+, i have to say that the anime from then was amazing, and transmited very well the emotions of the moment, so i would advise to watch the anime until like.. Impel Down, it turned to crap since then.

I just end up re-reading the marine war over and over again.

i think tekkai is just a weaker ver of haki casue Garp didnt use it vs macro when he punched the fuck outta him

Reading 700 chapters will surely take weeks.
|
Just watching random One Piece youtube clips, the fillers do have some funny moments in them.
Zoro acting as a babysitter + Show Spoiler +
Brook spending time with Zoro in episode 384. Which actually is a pretty good character episode for Brook + Show Spoiler +

Well, the Impel down to marine war arc is just insanely good.

No, last week was a double issue so there won't be a chapter tonight. However, we will mots likely see the next chapter before next Wednesday. AND THEN, next issue is also a double issue, and since we're gonna get it sooner than usual, it'll most likely be a three week-ish break of Jump.
TL:DR
Tonight - no chapter next chapter (694) - within this week [1 week wait] next next chapter (695) - week of January 14th - 18th [3 additional week wait]

Not that One Piece doesn't have 'standalone' arcs - Skypiea is pretty much entirely an isolated adventure, that didn't make it any less amazing. I'm not kidding. I just got tired really, really easily from "The revolution is inevitable, though we don't really want it", "I am crocodile and I am so evil I don't have to actually kill you, let me put you into a james-bond-villain-death-trap and leave you to die" and the constant flashbacks as to how the everything was idyllic before. It even begins at Whiskey Peak, with the introduction of the Baroque Works, Vivi and Igaram. if you consider they meet more Baroque agents all the way to Alabasta it really takes a long time.
But still only a minor gripe. Abother reason could be that it was rerun in TV like 3 times in a row when I only watched the anime, because the later arcs weren't dubbed into german at that time.

According to the mangareader Facebook page, just recently posted,
"Big 3 (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece) will be tomorrow. Spread the word!"
