Also, the WG had possession of the Paw Paw fruit so for sure they knew that it's really powerful. Tbh, we probably still haven't seen its full potential. Again, we can play the "they didn't want to shed too much light on how strong Kuma was" card. I guess my underlying point is Oda is making stuff as he goes way more than people think. But it's not as bullshit as Kubo ofc.

Kuma was introduced the same time Doflamingo was, we all knew they are both really strong

But it's not as bullshit as Kubo ofc. We learned Kuma's just now. He has a low bounty because he's a bit player in what they consider a bit game. If he comes back at 100% and is going to be a commander for Dragon again, his bounty will be around Luffy post Whole Cake Levels.

It's obvious Kuma had an agenda from the fact that he basically helped the SHs by throwing them all over and consequently when he was guarding the Sunny. ClutZ, his bounty was revealed way back, when they introducted him, so my argument stands.

Do you get where I'm going with this? Stop thinking about bounties logically. They are there to hype up characters. They're not supposed to make any sense.

At the time, this was meant to be a shocking revelation. Luffy's bounty was 30 Million since his battle with Arlong and after a fight with a big shot like Crocodile (with a former bounty of 81 Million), the 100 Million number was huge by comparison. Now, two more Shichibukai are introduced: Doflamingo and Kuma, and they're given massive bounties by comparison, roughly 300 Million each. This was very shocking at the time since up until that point, 100 Million was the highest bounty we ever saw and now there's two more dudes that completely outclass Luffy. "big number!" is pretty much the effect in-world. luffy has a "big number!" bounty that's bigger than his previous big number!

Still not done with the flashback... It's been 7 chapters already. I feel like it could have been resolved in 3-4 chapters easily. Maybe I have a heart of coal but I don't really care about Kuma or Bonney, I just want plot progression. It feels like we've been reading filler for 2 months now.

I don't really get how she'd do that, I think I'm missing something I think the running theory is that her fruit can incorporate her imagination in a way so she transformed her arm into an imaginary future where she had Nika powers. Kuma had at least told her Nika had a rubber body as for why it made her arm giant maybe because the buccaneer race is huge? Idk. Seems like her fruit could be extremely broken if this is the case though. It already seems pretty strong

Also, I'm not so sure if Kuma's still alive anymore. It could be that he's just programmed to protect whoever has that necklace Bonney got from vegapunk. However, that doesn't explain why he randomly started moving before Bonney got it and the egghead incident started. It could also just be "instinct" as Dragon and Iva proposed. The same thing happened to Cindry from Thriller Bark where even though her personality was wiped, her body still started crying and stopped responding to Hogback's commands. I'm thinking that's probably how it's going to end, Kuma will fight Saturn without saying a word and then smile at Bonney once Saturn activates his self destruct.

Yeah, up until the Cross Guild thing, I always thought the bounty system was so undercooked..... Do we even know of anyone cashing in on a bounty? I know Zoro used to be a bounty hunter but besides that tidbit I wish it was fleshed out more. On December 08 2023 00:44 Hyperbola wrote: New chapter just dropped. I hope you changed your mind because this is the saddest heartbreaking story I think Oda has put out. To the extent, I don't really care about the Strawhat's dreams. I wanna see Kuma and Bonney burn the world government down.
