World Government = past and present British Commonwealth (incl. America, UK, etc.) + their Allies (i.e. European union) representing the "Colonial Powers" (i.e. Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, etc.) and the collective "Western Society"
The rest of the world = people who got colonised/repressed, i.e. most of South America (luffy is some kind of 'south american' race right? Brazilian I think...), Japan (Zoro is japanese) etc. etc.
Yes my friend one piece very much applies to real life.

The Zoro is racist fan theory getting more ammo
|
I thought the face reveal and clash were both too quick and short and that made me think it was anticlimactic
|
I like the accelerated fights. OP is about the adventure even more than it is about battling strong people. That is why I love the new cover story! Show me things happening outside of the Straw Hats!

Really cool chapter. Zoro's ability to cut fire really paying dividends in this arc. About him being racist, isn't it King in the panel saying that I can't lose to a being like you?
I was surprised the fight vs. King concluded so fast, yet I don't feel there was much to go on since his "trick" was revealed. Interesting to see how Kaido used to have the exact same getup his underlings wear now.

Is it weird that what bothers me most in that thread is the picture of what the Straw Hats would do for professions irl and that it had Chopper as something other than fucking doctor?

It's like the problem of machine guns, rockets, and walking laser robots in One Piece. They exist, but where is the rest of the technology? Where are the armies of soldiers with machine guns, rockets and laser robots and why are they coexisting beside Napoleonic era guns?
When seastone is introduced, we can see it is widespread and has lots of uses, from simply sticking it to the end of weapons, forming handcuffs and cages and coating ships with it. The power of science as we know in the real world is that it is transferable to all people. It isn't magic available to a few select people who happened to eat a magic fruit. It's the problem of disruption the suspension of disbelief. Oda tried by slowly introducing ridiculous powers of science, like cyborg Franky but Queen is just too much, too bizarre all at once. It's like Tite Kubo and One Piece had a love child and named it Queen.

Well, ye, now I got it, you're just trolling. Enjoy yourself then.

Pretty strange that the crew members who have jobs that have real life counterparts wouldn't have them. There's no reason why as well as Chopper not being a doctor, Sanji would not be a chef, Robin an archaeologist or historian, Franky as a cyborg scientist or engineer, and Brook as a musician.

People who see something that took something from RL and think that everything else in that universe needs to follow suit. Are the WG and especially the Marines inspired by the British Empire and does OP take inspiration from the colonial times? Yes. Does that mean that everything else needs to fit with that analogy? Definitely not.
We can see that pretty easily in the Wano arc where it's not the BE or the Netherlands who became the power behind the Japanese throne, but a bunch of pirates who are much harder to find a historical preset for. Also f.e. Sakazuki is 100% a Japanese stereotype and even his name is Japanese.
Also Luffy's inspiration is very likely DB's Son Goku whom he shares loads of traits with and who's inspired by Sun Wukong the monkey king, something Oda was apparently very aware of when he named him Monkey D. Luffy.

If I've learned anything about Oda's last page comments/letter responses (SAS iirc) it's that they are more often joking than serious. To boot who knows how the question was phrased.

Given the context Im assuming its all a joke, but even with that in mind something about Chopper not being a doctor triggers a little angry red light in my head, lol

Its a commentary about personalities from what I can tell. The crew in OP all have dreams that are related to their role on the crew, all of which are the result of in-universe circumstances that would be unlikely to replicate in the real world.
Chopper for example is basically an orphan who was adopted by a doctor and Chopper inherited his will.

King was kind of a letdown, imo. He didn't seem all that powerful like Katakuri or interesting like Queen. I wish he never took off his mask. Now the mystery is all gone and he looks like a femboy with fire powers. Boring.
