When seastone is introduced, we can see it is widespread and has lots of uses, from simply sticking it to the end of weapons, forming handcuffs and cages and coating ships with it. The power of science as we know in the real world is that it is transferable to all people. It isn't magic available to a few select people who happened to eat a magic fruit. It's the problem of disruption the suspension of disbelief. Oda tried by slowly introducing ridiculous powers of science, like cyborg Franky but Queen is just too much, too bizarre all at once. It's like Tite Kubo and One Piece had a love child and named it Queen.

This is somewhat similar in other anime's and usually when the characters develop their powers the theme starts branching out. Like at first, its 3 characters under fire / water / wind theme.... and then fire guy gets earth as well etc... but when the theme is he has all elements, then there is no theme.... I certainly don't think its going to happen to that extent in One piece, but since Black beard as one of the "final boss" is touted as having the ability to break out this 1 fruit power mold, i think the more characters that has multiple themes, the less great his ability will be relatively.

Weapon tech seems to be mostly limited to cyborgs (and ships in the Sunny's case) and even in our world the number of people who'd be willing to replace biological parts of them with mechanical ones realistically isn't that high. To boot we have no way to know how much maintenance is required for these things and Haki is a much stronger power than technology in OP anyways. For me Frankie's level of doing stuff when he got introduced was way more out there than what Queen is doing, after all he's mainly combining stuff from other people (Frankie type body enhancements, Judge abilities, Caesar's biological warfare).

Obviously you could argue that if he has Judge's tech than why does Kaido have so much fodder instead of engineered super soldiers, but the answer is simply that Queen doesn't care about fodder as shown when he spreads the virus.


Perfectly fair, I don't enjoy Queen using Judge's techniques much either, but Queen currently is mainly doing clowny stuff anyways. Like he literally forgot that he's fighting Sanji because he saw a prostitute he's mad at, the fight is a joke fight more than anything from Queen's side.

For me Haki is the way larger problem for that than Queen though, although I agree on Black Beard's fruit being a really boring way to break the setting.

It feels you think technology/innovation born in R&D labs instantly transfers into IRL usual world ?!

Some protoypes are conceived, some studies are thought, some machines are engineered right now and basically none in the world have any clue about it save the bunch of people doing it, and it's going to be like that for 20 years ahead 'till enough progress is made so that a company actually finds a way to make profit manufacturing and selling it.

There is a world between a study indicating that something is possible and a functionning prototype, and there is then an other different world between this functionning prototype and the thing that is manufactured a billion time and sold to us consumers.

I don't see why it should be different in OP ?!
