Now I understand why Whole Cake was such trash. It was all just setup for what's about to come. Edit: Looking back on it now, it seems like the Ancient Kingdom had one king and he was usurped by 20 other kings. By the patterning on his throne, it looks like he was the king of the planet, since the throne looks all "spacey". Just look at the star patterns on it. Maybe the throne is the command chair of a space ship? And perhaps either Pangea or Marijois is a giant space ship? Maybe the hat controls it? So many possibilities!

Lucci's speech...Seems so comically gross. Idk if that was his intent or if he really believes that garbage.

You'll think all the royalty be enslaved as status symbols and all be enslaved a long time ago then. Most of the celestial dragons don't see fishmen as human. Considering how poorly they treat non-celestials, that's a pretty low opinion. What's more surprising to me is that from the looks of it the celestial dragons don't really rule anything. They are just really privileged class that spend their days faffing about. I imagine that it's the Gorosei that make all of the decisions and the celestial dragons reap the rewards. The thing that irks me about it is that it would make zero sense in real life: someone who doesn't do anything but dick around cannot hold on to power for long. I mean what's stopping the Gorosei from just exterminating the celestial dragons? Who would be against that? Cp0? Cp0 only has power because of the World Government.... which is run by the Gorosei. I hope Oda extrapolates some more about the nature of the world nobles because as it stands right now, Mariejois just looks like a giant daycare with a shitload of money.

He was always pretty fanatical about doing the WG's will, and now hes serving directly under the top.

Thats wrong, They rule every place that is affiliated with WG. If one of the Celestial Dragons go to the island like Dressrosa and say that im the king now, everyone would accept it.

That's exactly how it was for most humanity's history though. It's enough to own land, a title, or have affiliation to power and you get what you see in Mariejois.

Yeah but in humanity history some did take take care of the ruling while the others just enjoyed the privileges... Although Gorosei might very well be celestials dragons themself proctecting the privileges of there own class. Another thing is MarieJois's treasure Doflamingo talked about, maybe they do have something very powerfull at their disposal that allow them to hold power ?
