As for Bleach, it went downhill long ago. It still has some cool moments/characters and that's why I keep coming back (plus I want to see the ending). Kubo really is good at creating some cool looking characters. Even these Sternritters have some neat new looks. Unfortunately, he just doesn't know how to develop them. So he ends up with dozens of characters sharing screen time and eventually the whole thing just becomes a mess. We've essentially been in this mess anytime he tries to use the Shinigami captains all at the same time because he's created too many of them and then has to create enemies for each of them and I just stop caring.

The series is always at it's best when it follows Ichigo + his small group of friends as they go on a mission against new enemies, one by one or just a couple branches. Life and war might be chaotic, but storytelling was meant to be linear. Kubo never really understood this point.
