Also, it's very possible that when she gives birth to Ichigo, she somehow loses her powers (maybe Ryuu Ishida take away her powers for her insubordination/leaving for Isshin) and thats why she isn't able to fend off the normal hollow. It doesn't take very much extra thought to come to that conclusion, now it's about how Kubo ties it all together. Yea, otherwise there would be no reason for Urahara to turn around when passing by Masaki. unless he sensed Masakis spriti power and thought "woa why is there a human with so mcuh power"
I doubt it. I wouldn't spend about 2 pages just to show that Urahara noticed her spiritual energy as a quincy. The build up there was obviously meant for something the reader didn't already know already - such as Misaki getting infected in a certain way.

I think urahara went through misaki and she noticed which is what urahara was surprised about.

Aizen even stated that they took the soul of a shinigami, hollowfied it, and filled in the hole. How they did that last part is beyond me, but it apparently gave it more power.
What follows is pure speculation but it fits. They used the soul of Kaien Shiba(ironically a relative of Isshin Shiba) in their hollowfication experiments, resulting in the hollow shown in the most recent chapters. When Masaki killed the hollow, the soul entered her and hung around. Presumably at some point in the future she gets knocked up, and the soul becomes Ichigo. Ichigo inherits Shinigami power on his father's side, and from the Shinigami soul, Quincy powers from his mother's side, and hollow powers from the hollowfication that happened before he was born, and reactivated by the near-hollowfication that happened wayyyyyyyy back before the soul society arc. So then Masaki got tag teamed by Shiba cousins. I'd like you to meet your mother and your aunt, Masaki. Make it happen Kubo, you've already jumped the fence.

I think that is correct

1. It looks like a Vasto Lorde 2. Aizen said something about it reaching it's final stage and that's why it imploded (instead of evolving)
And Urahara obviously noticed the hollow inside her.

I think its more likely that urahara was watching the fight like the shady dude he is, came to the same conclusion as aizen of it "choosing" a quincy and hes just checking whats up with masaki.
Where does this fit into the grand timeline of Bleach? It seems to be after Urahara being exiled so i guess that means Isshin wasn't the captain that had been "killed in action" that shunsui and unohana were on about but there hadn't been a captain for a long time before toshiro was promoted. So is this just another kubo mistake or what. I Probably should have learnt not to look too much into bleach but this has been bugging me.

Ehh yet another 23-paged chapter that barely moves the story at all... 23 pages for ryuuken to notice masaki has hollow problems and for him&isshin to run into Urahara...

As far as i cawn piece this together, the hollow that isshin defeated, might be the original vasto lord created by Aizen. Ontop of that, that very hollow may infact be the hollow Ichigo have inside him.
Something like the Naruto/Kyuubi relationship?

hm so isshin and masaki both loosing thier powers on the way to save masaki's life. and because masaki died, isshin got his powers back slowly...

awesome chapter.
i hope Kubo doesn't drag too long, but I think this story is going to go on for a long time if he wants to explain things up until Ichigo's conception.
I think the pace of the recent chapters is much slower than the start of this arc. At the start revelations were coming out of the woodwork left right and center, shinigami dying and staying dead... it was like a breath of fresh air!!!!

another chapter where urahara comes to save the day , big surprise

I won't read it but I hope you guys will have some funny comments.

If you put it that way, I guess you can sum up the chapter as two guys fighting over a hole, then a third one comes along and says he knows how to close it. :V
I riked this chapter. Was pretty fun.

+ Show Spoiler + Urahara will tell them the only way to plug the hole is to put something in it. Then 9 months later, tan tan, Ichigo is born. Haha!
Well, I hope the payoff is worth the build up here. Urahara sure knows when to show up even from the beginning.

It makes Ishida's dad into a sympathetic character. Previously he had turned his back on the quincy and had no interest, while ishida lacked the talent. Now he's bucking his family tradition (remember how proud ishida was), for a girl with whom he has a really weird relationship. He admires her and her beliefs, is supposed to have an arranged marriage, then defends her by protecting her secret over the family line. Then he's acting irrational and running away from quincy... and it's going to end up with his "enemy" winning the girl.
So he's going to end up the loser, despite being the "hero"

ichigo dad marrys masaki, gets banned from shinigami world
