watched love exposure yesterday (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1128075/).
what an amazing movie ... runtime is 4h but i wish i had watched the original 6h version. actually thought it was going to be another awkwardly acted japanese movie but luckily it proved me wrong. definitely recommend this to anyone who likes asian movies.

Finally saw The Avengers. I really don't get what the big deal was. Just an over the top, marvel toy commercial with some funny bits. Maybe I'm just a little jaded after seeing nothing but brainless blockbusters recently. I think I'll see Lawrence of Arabia to wash this feeling off.

I'm currently going through a Woody Allen phase (again) and I just watched this neat little movie. It's not quite up there with Annie Hall and Manhattan but it was very enjoyable and with an amazing cast.

No I don't think so (sniper Gunnar Jensen = Dolph Lundgren). And my point was that action movies are just boring. I wan't interesting stories. Why would I watch the successor. I didn't even finish the movie as it was just too boring. (yeh i quitted during the action scenes).

Just came out of the cinema watching Prometheus.
Stupid movie, 2/10, don't watch. Confusing storyline, full of pseudo-religious BS, one of the main discoveries has to be stated bluntly out of the sky because there would be no way you could come to the same conclusion as viewer.

No chance in hell I'm paying for watching expendables 2. The novelty of having all the 80's super action heroes in the same movie wore off about 10 minutes into the first movie. The story was completely stupid, it wasn't even standard cliché 80's action flick bad, it was way the fuck below that.
So over this genre.

Meh, my problem with this genre is too much plot. I mean, when I go to see an action flick, I'm going because I want to see the main characters blowing stuff up and any bystanders that happen to be nearby. I really don't care why they're doing it. But for some reason, moviemakers still insist on spending half the movie explaining which girl/country/planet the hero is trying to save. I mean, we all know you half-assed the script, so spare us the pain and just cut to the explosions. After all, it works for porn.
If I had my way, we'd just throw the characters into the ring with a few seconds of intro every time a new challenger appears and then watch them beat the shit out of each other for 40 minutes. Continuously. If you have something to say about your backstory, then keep it to yourself. If you're dying slowly, do so quietly and for God's sake, don't hold us all up with a speech. If you have a clever one-liner, it's probably been done already. The last one standing gets a sex scene with the hottest girl still alive, good luck.

i just went to see total recall which was a remake of this movie. I didn't have that high expectation but it actually was a pretty good movie.

Well to me the Second one is what the First one should of been. The first one took things waaay too seriously, especially with all these actors, it's humanly impossible to make a serious film with the amount of badasses in this movie. This one is in your face action, nostalgic one liners, a decent plot, and some above average acting. The second one is far superior to the first, and almost a completely different movie.

Watched Batman Dark Knight Rises Today. Pretty bad movie. Saw it alone. By the title you know it's going to be terrible but there were no better movies and I was feeling down. Acting 5/10 unbelievable scenes. Random people standing up, bad fight scenes. Sound 3/10 Bane has a cool accent. Too bad I can't tell a word he's saying in the movie. Writing 3/10 not sure if Christopher Nolan ever read batman comics or watched the cartoons. Ras Al Ghul has been alive for a few years and was a mercenary until recently. Ok. Catwoman comes back at the most opportune time. Uhuh. And the twist. THE TWISTS. + Show Spoiler +The woman is actually Ras' daughter. DUNHDUNHDUNH. Pretty hard to tell it wasn't Bane when he got his scars in the prison and Ras' heir escaped before getting them. Also interesting that she would sleep with her father's murderer because... throw him off. Yeah. yeah. And the whole thing about getting his fingerprints. That had huge relevance to the storyline because they obviously used it to... cross reference with prints from batman's hands through his gloves... that he dropped some time 10 years ago.
Nolan tried to adapt the batman storyline because who needs the stick to fundamental character traits when you have creativity such as that. Feels like they're squeezing money as best they can. They try to hide it behind some sort of, what will be described as, "deep" and "intelligent" social commentary. by some

Bit of a low rating I feel, worth at least a 6 but on the most part I agree with the gripes. As well as the aforementioned points, the Bane vs Batman fights were like 3 seconds long and plane stupid. The mask's obviously there fore a reason, why didn't he just hit it the first time? I mean he had his anti-limp leg band on so he was good to go. Film was pretty dumb in places, obvious story and twists. Good for an action flick but still a mediocre film in general.
