I watched this last night, partly due to this and more IMDB ranking it in the top 100. I honestly don't get why people love it so much.
+ Show Spoiler +So much gets made out of the morality of revenge, the violence, and the incest. However, at the end of the day, I just feel like it is a movie without any characters. Almost all of the minor characters are literally nameless thugs hired by the "villain," and most of the main characters' actions as well as some memories and even emotions are retroactively explained by hypnosis ordered by the "villain." It feels like I just watched a disturbed man play out a revenge fantasy with human dolls. Even after the "villain" is "defeated," the protagonist's actions afterwards are essentially following his foe's dying words. Sorry for all the quotation marks, but the intended message of the movie is very vague and leaves most of these titles nebulous.

I Saw the Devil
Pretty good movie, in a similar vein to stuff like the Vengeance trilogy. I can't review too much of it without spoiling it, but basically it's about a serial killer and one man's quest to take revenge on him. It shows how dark the human soul can be.
I haven't seen the uncut version (if there is one), but the violence isn't as bad as most of the reviews make it out to be. The violence is far more personal and disturbing than any Hollywood movie, however.

Watched this via video on demand and the audio was desynced by a little under a second. Not the greatest movie anyways but this made it even worse.
Im thinkin I may start buy all the Smallville seasons though(one at a time of course).

i looooved bronson. i watched a couple other prison themed movies on netflix and they recommended that one and i watched it on a whim, absolutely hilarious and entertaining as hell.

Don't bother buying Smallville, the first seasons are so insanely slow. Every episode is basicly this: Random bad guy appears, random bad guy does something against one of Clark's friends, Clark comes to the rescue and random bad guy is never seen in another episode again.

An ok movie, with decent acting and all, but being a business guy, I know that its just not smart the way Leeson do his trades. Making money in stocks isn't supposed to be "exciting" and "frantic". If you are doing that, well.. see what happens to Nick Leeson and 90% of all day traders in the world right now. Its like watching a drunk race car driver trying to win a race. We all know how that's going to end.
Having gotten the stick out of my ass, I'd like to recommend The Big Bang with Antonio Banderas.
A surprisingly decent action comedy, as I never expected jokes from a guy like Antonio.

yea, I watched it in the cinema and was kind of surprised the rating was quite low. The action scenes and screenplay wasn't bad at all.
A movie I recently watched:
suna no onna (Woman in the dunes)
A japanese black and white movie that based upon a novel I think.
The story is quite interesting, a man got trapped in this place where they have to dig up sands in order for food and supplies. He is forced to live with this woman in a house.
The message behind the story is quite impressive I have to say.

One of the best and most intelligent movies of this type. I liked it a whole lot more than The Fighter for comparison.

Agree with pretty much everything Rodimus said. Movie was terrible, the use of 3D was even worse (it was also the only choice, we had to buy tickets, no non-3D option). The previews and commercials I saw made better use of 3D than the movie. Some of the action scenes were ok, specifically the side angle, slow motion killing tons of bad guy ones, similar to those from 300 since it's by the same producers. 4/10 I can't even grace that movie with a 4. Maybe a 2. The story itself is just terrible, full of retarded hypocrisies and a terrible flow. The emotion is fake, the acting is mediocre, the concept is stupid. + Show Spoiler +The Virgin Oracle? Seriously? But then she has sex with the main character after spending a couple of days with him. Finding the fucking super weapon in a damn rock? Zeus being just plain terrible and retarded, the main character being some normal kid with no magical powers but apparently he can fight off a dozen guys at once? I could go on too.
I have no clue what you guys are talking about. This movie was freaking hilarious. It's even funnier than Captain America. My friend read the iliad, and his comments after the movie were like icing on a cake. I recommend everyone to go see this movie.
