Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
Amazing film. Might be my fav Miyazaki film along with Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.

and this

Ip Man

This I thought was ok. I'm not really big into the kung fu movies.

Nausicaa is fantastic. I don't think enough fans of Miyazaki bother to check it out but they are missing out on something great.

Fearless - Starring Jet Li. Holds many similarities to Ip Man (Both having a martial artist who challenged foreign fighters during Western Imperialism). Really well done.

Shinjuku Incident - A Chinese man enters Japan illegally to search for his fiancee. He and the other illegals he entered with start getting involved with the Yakuza which eventually turns into a gang war. Pretty good. Along with a more serious storyline and a good amount of violence, this is not the stereotypical Jackie Chan movie. Probably one of the reasons why I liked it more then I thought I would.

The Life of David Gale (2003)

Kevin Spacy is brilliant as usual in this movie. He takes on a role of an inmate on death row. Just three days prior to his execution he is interviewed where he let's on that he may be innocent of the crime.

Watched this via video on demand and the audio was desynced by a little under a second. Not the greatest movie anyways but this made it even worse.
Im thinkin I may start buy all the Smallville seasons though(one at a time of course).

Don't bother buying Smallville, the first seasons are so insanely slow. Every episode is basicly this: Random bad guy appears, random bad guy does something against one of Clark's friends, Clark comes to the rescue and random bad guy is never seen in another episode again.

Once you get past the first 1-2 seasons of smallville i think that the show really takes off. and the rest of the seasons are really good. 1-2 though are really boring and crap. i started off watching smallville from season 3 and only when i got really into smallville (around season 4-5) i went back and watched smallville season 1-2 just because i felt i had to and found them really boring

The Thing (2011 version)

Boring, stupid and very bad overall. I don't think I can find a single positive, redeeming feature in this movie.
1/10 from me.

This movie was great! Starts with a bit of confusion but as the movie goes on you realize that also the story was really well done. I can only recommend it!

Slow, boring and full of clichés. Just stopped watching(something I almost never do) half way in.

The Man from Nowhere

From IMDb: A quiet pawnshop keeper with a violent past takes on a drug- and organ trafficking ring in hope of saving the child who is his only friend.

I loved this movie, it's a Korean movie with English subtitles and it's on Netflix and it's amazing.

Men of Honor
About the first black navy diver and his struggles to reach that position. I personally loved it (which is surpsing cause it has cuba gooding jr.) as it was just a really good touching story of ones strive for a goal despite everyone trying to stop him from reaching it.

Just watched Crazy. Stupid. Love.

My opinion is this a very good romantic comedy next to no strings attached

I would agree w/ this. I really liked Crazy. Stupid. Love. Haven't seen No Strings Attached though, but might give it a shot now.

Also, movies I've seen recently that I would definately recommend:
50/50
story of a guy who gets cancer and his struggles to bare with it and how it affects his relationships.. really good movie.

The next three days
concerns a family where the mother is imprisoned due to a homicide, of which we're not sure if its justifiable or not and the father sets out to free her from jail, which is a really elaborate plot and of course the actual climax involving the execution.
again, really good.

He's just not that into you
another romantic drama, I don't really think there's enough comedy in it to consider a romantic-comedy but it's pretty good, relating or combining a bunch of individual stories and connecting them through friendships where some don't really know the others and just a story of a girl looking for romance and having many problems finding it and her friends that go through relationship struggles too.. was worth a watch.

Not particularly amazing acting or story wise. Visually it was pretty well done though!

was in a mood for a good beat-em-up action, and for that this came through AWESOMELY

You might want to check out the original trilogy. It was much better.
It's called Infernal Affairs (Mou gaan dou is the original title).

[TV] Kindred: The Embraced

I know that this thread is about movies and not TV shows but I present you with a true pearl. I can't believe I haven't seen it earlier, it's like Firefly: story driven by great characters, where story isn't the most important thing, it's what new things you learn about characters during its course that counts.
Even though low budget and lack of recognition definitely hurt the series (there are some excellent performances and some not-so-good and it's a bit cheesy at times), I believe that it's still awesome. Definitely a lot better than a lot of vampire crap they've been throwing at us recently (True Blood, Vampire Diaries). As a bonus, the setting is based pretty heavily on the old World of Darkness (vampire clans, politics and feuds etc.). There are some major differences between this series and WoD (vampire powers) but what's important is still there.

And just like in the case of Firefly this series run short at only 8 episodes. It always saddens me when a great show is cut short because people are too dumb to recognize it
Time is precious. Waste it wisely.
