If you give me an hour of video footage I can make you 60 1 minute trailers. I think it's pretty logical that the guys that do post-production and make the trailers are not involved with the actual shooting of the series.
Way to take everything literally.
I've just never seen any show that released 50+ trailers for a single season.
Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't overuse so much footage between them. The thing is, they only have 10 episodes, and a lot of stuff is spoilers so they can't show it so they stick to some action shots and some powerful lines and end up repeating them in almost every trailer. Kind of overkill at this point.

You assume that everyone is as much of a fan of it as us and seeks out every trailer to watch. Not really overkill, just people complaining because they can't see past their own perspective.

People who don't seek "all the trailers", ie just want to watch 1 or 2 of them could still do so if there were only 2-4 or so trailers. By making a dozen of them with largely the same footage it is overkill.

Just because it bothers 'you' does not make it overkill. I believe HBO knows how to market their shows more so than some random guy on the internet. Maybe you should go get a job on their production team since you are so highly qualified and knowledgeable on the subject.
I personally enjoyed all the trailers, even the ones with the same pieces used between them. That's how opinions work, I don't go around talking about my opinions as if they were facts, that would be juvenile.

Not sure why you're getting so defensive here. Did I say my opinion was fact? did I say that I know for a fact that less trailers would be better and that HBO should listen to me? calm down guy. If you haven't noticed, people are just discussing shit until the season starts.

I think he is just bothered by the fact that you are whining over something really stupid to whine about. Stop with all the footage HBO! I can't help myself to watch them but I'm being spoiled!! This is OVERKILL!!!

Uh, but then they would get done with all the books WAY before G.R.R is done with the sixth one. Hell, at the rate G.R.R. is going, they probably will finish 6 seasons, 1 season a year, before he's done with the next book.

"By making a dozen of them with largely the same footage it is overkill." He said , oh so 'matter of factly'
I wasn't really that excited until a few weeks ago when they started releasing all the trailers for the new season. Now Im REALLY REALLY excited. That Varys intro was just so good, instant nerd chills.
Also you don't have to watch the trailers if you don't want to be spoiled. Very minor spoilers anyway. Ive enjoyed the new trailers and I think they've done a great job of bringing everybody back up to speed and into the mood.
I have just today started reading the 1st book. Couldn't be more glad about this decision.
Do you guys think I should read the 2nd book before the 2nd season is finished or not? Which is the most enjoyable way to follow the 2nd season, by reading or by watching?

I read the series after first seeing Season 1, and am of the opinion ACoK is better than AGoT. The second book introduces a lot of things stylistically and content-wise that Martin didn't broach with the second book. Whereas AGoT is largely the tale of Eddard Stark and what happens to him (w/ Dany in for the ride), the second book shifts away from that sort of single story arc. That all being said, I think you'll find the characterizations in the book subtler than they will be in the show: limited time, no internal thoughts, etc. I would recommend reading the book first, as your appreciation of the show might be enhanced. The second season will come with changes of course, as the scope is larger, but I have to imagine they will be faithful to the text as they were in the first season. So if you read the book first, your opinion on how the characters feel will be stronger, but if you put off reading until the season ends (that's a long time bucko) the visuals will probably have more impact as you will be unaware of the plot. The books are great fun, so do yourself a favor and get readin.

Read the books first.
I just decided for the same. I had watched season 1 first and afterwards read book 1. That made the book somewhat boring. As reading the books is still more exciting (imo) than watching a TV series, I chose to rather have the TV series spoilered than the book.

3:10 to 3:15 - For a second there I did not think the character and actor was the same person. She really does change a lot with different hair, and clothes and some makeup.

WHOAAAA she looks so much better in person. O_O WHOAAAA
I still wish they chose a more attractive person to play Cersei. She just doesn't look the part. Jon looks so different without the beard too.
