Don't think you're giving the European youth enough credit. Isn't limited to HBO anyway, shows don't randomly switch places in the lineups. And they don't take more than a year of filming.

I did not like the final so much pretty anticlimatic for me. Still it was a great watch and I will definitively read the books now

Im part of the european youth and i know of HBO NBC and channels like that but dont know how they work and know that they only exist in the US.
The point is you shouldnt say things should be obvious to others just becuz you know how a channel operates with its shows it makes you sound extremly cocky.

This is a stupid discussion, lets just end it. How series work apparently isn't obvious.

yes some of this wasn't conveyed properly in the show. it's fair enough. they had alot to get through. but thats how it is iirc i dont know why people waste time debating something that is already set in stone :<
im pretty sure walked into the pyre because she KNEW she was immune to fire since all throughout the season she was touching hot things and not getting burnt.

Is it ok to jump to the 2nd book without reading the 1st one while waiting for the new season?

What are you talking about fools! There's HBO in Europe! And it's awesome! It's not the same as HBO in the USA as it has a different programme. It still exists though, and since Game of Thrones is an original HBO production, it will hit the TV screen soon enough - just like Flashforward aired on HBO just a month or so later (and that was actually an ABC production)
And who are we fooling anyway, we all know how we European are - we just love them torrent sites...

However, as far as understanding the plot goes you should be mostly fine with starting with book 2 since the show has stayed very true to the book.

Shouldn't the second season be called A Clash of Kings, instead of Game of Thrones season 2?
|
Any swede knows if these books exist in swedish? Can only find english ones.

The first one wasn't called A Song of Ice and Fire either.

That would probably be too confusing for some people. Besides, Game of Thrones is a good name for the whole TV show.

srsly, 1 of those prisoners looks just like Liam Neeson Oo

I really hope they dont use "Game of thrones season 2", just seems utterly lame to me. They just need to add in smaller letters "A song of ice and fire" bellow or above the "Clash of kings" name for season 2. And also make it damn obvious(to the masses) that it's the sequence to "the game of thrones".

Man the next season starts spring 2012. There's no way i could wait that long. I'm gonna start reading the books, but I'll still watch the show whenever it comes out.

If I didn't know there was a season 2, I'd be so disappointed at this finale. Yet I am still disappointed because it is going to take a year, apparently, for season 2 :|

Oh ok, thanks. I was thinking that there were key things in the book that wasn't mentioned in the show.

Not as key as Ned dying or dragons getting born but once you read book 1 you will understand what I am talking about.
