People rallying under the king of the north, Tyrion gettin the respect of his father and becomin the hand of the king, dragons being born, and the Night's watch goin beyond the wall and to war.
Damnit it's ridiculous how many epic storylines are goin to come. I'm never gonna make it a year...
first of all, i have to say it is disappointing if you already know what gona happen (read the book + wiki) King of the North: i mean come on, quote edd: "hes just a boi"... There were no sign that he will be a great commander/king in the series. When you compare him to the Lanister, he is just a simple mind person with his mom there to protect him ( who is not even that smart but doing everything for "family"). Tyrion getting respect from his father is about time... But become hand of the king? Pretty please... who is the king? The kid that he slap thousand times on a youtube video =))... Right, look at how cruel and dumb our current king is... You must love to see Tyrion being tortue by his boss :-/ Dragons being born: yeah, its great but wiki ruined it for me =_=... gota read it b4 i decided to spend time on the series T_T. They are small though... unless they grow up really quick to become a part of the army, i dont see anything happen soon. But the fact that she is immune to fire amazed me... Night watch going beyond wall make me scared bc i hate zombies =_=... i always minimized my screen when they follow snow point of view >.< Conclusion: ep9 > all! You clearly haven't been paying attention well enough. Robb has already been shown to be a great strategic leader, Tyrion has been shown to bully Joffrey around (not vice versa, and Tywin specifically told Tyrion to keep the king in check), and how can you think the dragons won't be a pivotal role in the near future, even as small as they are?
Better yet, why would you read the whole fucking wiki to decide if you want to watch a show?

Maybe they should have taken the chance and saved Ned's beheading for the last epsiode. Particularly because they had nothing else interesting to go off of.
With that said, looking forward to season 2, hopefully they'll write a more interesting climax next season or I can't see HBO, with their track history, keeping this show afloat for another season. How are the dragons a weak ending? The whole pyre burning, and finding her w/ the dragons was epic (and I was expecting it, even, because I've read the books.)
Newborn dragons didn't salvage the hour that came before them, I'm sure they won't be a big deal and could quite frankly be killed before they are mature and of use. The show seemed to cover a year or less. It might be a matter of age, the young may be terribly impressed by that but after Ned was beheaded you need to do something bigger to go out on a high.

If you don't feel up to reading the books, get the audio books. They are very well read by a shakespearean actor who gives different voices to the different characters and can be listened to while you are doing other things. The books fill in a ton of details that they didn't have time to cover during the show and since each chapter is done from a different character's point of view you get their thoughts as well which are often difficult to translate in the show.

Looking forward to the next season , I will read the books while waiting.
At their first introduction into the story during the wedding, fights breaking out during the middle of it and killing one another without hesitation just to fuck some whore. Later Khol drogo uses his bare hands to rip a man's tongue from his throat. I'm not sure what show you were watching buddy.

Yeah they're certainly setting it up to look like history repeats itself, perhaps this time the North won't bend a knee to a Targaryen and her dragons. Anyone know how fast dragons mature in GRRM fantasy-land, but maybe you shouldn't answer that question?

Don't read this if you don't want spoilers about season 2 (probably about later in the series as well but I stopped at the first sign of spoilers).
e.g. Will you have a bigger budget for season 2 because + Show Spoiler +no spoilers in this thread; I read the warning.

While the events you paraphrase do indeed occur, the argument in the post you quoted has little to do with whether those events did or did not happen. Instead, it cites that the poster felt that the production quality of those events was shoddy, and contributed to an overall weakening of the strength of the impression those events left him.
tldr i'm not sure what post you were reading buddy.

This isn't "Saw". They don't have to 'up the gore' just to try and drive home a point. Tension is rising as the entire land prepares for civil war. Maybe you are the one to young to understand how this story is shaping up.

Kind of worried for Shay or whatever her name is, Tyrions girlfriend. Joffrey has a track record of killing people for petty reasons, so I'm not surprised if he'll go "off with her head" on her just to spite Tyrion.
Edit: Or even worse, do a repeat of what Tywin did in Tyrions story. Yuck.

I made the step by watching sotg and it was actually horrible. I thought this would be some awesome medieval fantasy new genre but it is basically a bad bad serial into fake action scenes and fake acting... everyone of my friends laughed at me after I suggested them to check it out only DUE to its imdb rating, what the hell guyz ? am I the only one who thinks this stinks money and nothing else ? Please stick to your cartoon anime's. Real drama of the human kind seems too much for your addle brain to handle. As a poster before me put it, the likes of "jersey shore" seem much more to your standard of 'entertainment'. Feel free to keep your poorly constructed 'posts' to a minimum, wouldn't want to see a fresh mind turned off from a good story because of some ignorant dribble. Drama has nothing to do with the medium it is presented in. Anyway: This show will be famous for what you could call "naked exposition". Talking while some naked person is in the scene XD I hope further seasons will manage to reduce that. Over all very solid stuff and compared to some other first seasons of later classics this was outright brilliant. But there is still a lot of possibility to improve the series. The scale is that of an epic and I wish that they get a bigger budget and that they settle in so the second season will be even better. The story is, by definition of the word, a drama. Have whatever opinion you will, It does not change the meaning of the word.
Somewhere something got lost in our communication... I think. My remark "Drama has nothing to do with the medium it is presented in." was aimed at the sentence "Please stick to your cartoon anime's". I just wanted to say only by observing that something is a cartoon or an anime or cartoonish or animeesque it does not mean that you won't find "Real drama of the human kind" in it. Cause the medium, I am quite sure you know, has nothing to do with the expressed content but your post seemed to imply that and therefore I objected. Anyway this has nothing to do with the topic so I suggest we stop talking about it (at least here. If you feel the need please pm me).

I'm more worried about Tyrion himself. Joffrey is probably gonna remember episode 2 slap-fest.

Yeah that's why I was worried for his GF, he can't physically harm Tyrion for obvious reasons so he'll take his frustration on Tyrions loved ones to try and break him down mentally.

I wouldn't put it past him, the little shit could do anything, no matter how retarded it is (like killing Ned, as Tywin and Tyrion recognized).

When the witch screamed on the funeral pyre, after claiming she would not scream, i have to say i was thinking"Bitch had it coming!"
So glad that i bought all 4 Books recently, so i can read up on the story and watch Season 2 without my weekly fix of GoT.

Shay/Shae, his prostitute/girlfriend.

She's just a whore he recently picked up. The most recent one. That is such a stretch to say he loves her. Are you assuming he does because he asked her to be at court with him?

He was told not to and he brought her anyway. If he didn't like her he would just find another toy in King's Landing.
