THAT KID IS SO F**KING LAME -- I hope Arya will poke him with the pointy end :[ Pretty sure there is no way that is happening, as much as I would like to see it. Arya won't be allowed within 1000 yards of Joffrey, lol.

If he stuck to the law and executed that Night's watchman, he should not be granted mercy himself. Live by the sword, die by the sword, to be a bit dramtic. Didnt think of that, very true tho. Hopefully Arya will kill Joffrey or w/e the new kings name is, hate that guy

The books are battledodging just as much, which is good, the emphasis of the show is the drama.

I also found it really emotional and well done when Catelyn saw Robb come back from the battle, her facial expression - pure gold. On the other hand: I don't remember Shae being like that at all (her behavior/character not her look), bad memory or did they change stuff?!

He's like 14 in the books, 17 or so in the TV show. Quite a significant aspect of his character is that he's massively out of his depth.

Doesn't change the fact that GRRM tried to depict Medieval in fantasy setting. At that time it was commonplace for noble people to get married at the age of 13 (with marriage already being planned years ahead). And even look at Sansa/Joffrey, Cersei specifically asked her if she has bled yet, which would be the indicator of her being of age suitable for marriage. The average age of menarche (first period) for girls is 11.75 years so that's pretty young.

Actually GRRM originally said he wanted to do a time lapse in the books that is now never going to happen (just too much action) . So I think the characters are all just starting older like 2 or 3 years, especially since they were really young in the books. Unless of course it is said how old he is in the show, but I don't remember that.
