"* DO NOT POST BOOK SPOILERS OF ANY KIND IN THIS THREAD ANYMORE *" it really bothers u that much? They are spoilered, you dont need to read them, mods often check this thread, if they find it inappropiate they ll act. I think it's not inappropriate since it directly links to the discussion and it's clearly distinguished to not ruin any1's fun. You really shouldn't whine about it if a red, bold mod note in all caps says no book spoilers, it probably means no book spoilers. hes not whining, he is legitimately complaining. just follow the rules and there is no problem. + Show Spoiler [offtopic] + If we were going wildly off the topic of episode 6 I would've advocated moving to the other thread (see my earlier post about things related to the crazyness of Lannisters or Tagaryens), but it is inevitable that people who have read the books and are watching the TV series come here to discuss it. The topic was originally that book spoilers be put in spoiler tags clearly marking the books. It was retarded people who could not keep to that rule that got the warning changed and I fully agree with that, but if you're going to nitpick about people CLEARLY marking spoilers with "book" tags and spoiling something that is going to happen in 2 or so episodes then you are seriously overreacting (or being a rule nazi for the sake of trolling).
or you're just being difficult because you have an entire thread now to discuss book spoilers related to the TV show that will leaves this thread to people who haven't read the book and want to discuss the TV show without spoilers

Episode six: Watching my friend's face as the end scene happened was awesome.
Episode seven was great. As far as I'll go seeing that is hasn't aired yet.
Though what I found better was HBOgo. I am now able to watch all of Rome and The Wire without having to wait for it on demand. It's all right there.

legally you can not

He's talking about HBOgo, I think, which is legal.

Just an off topic comment about HBOGo... It's freaking awesome! The ability to watch every season of every show ever played on HBO is amazing.
As for GoT, really loving it so far, as a reader of all 4 books, I feel they did an exceptional job with the cast.

Has this been confirmed/hinted anywhere?
The 2nd book is longer than the first, and the 3rd the longest of them all. I really wish they can have more episodes to work with.

I downloaded up to episode 6 of GoT yesterday (i cant get HBO here) and i was going to just watch episode 1 today, i ended up watching all 6 episodes, despite having a final exam tomorrow. The show is just brilliant, ive already decided i cant wait for the TV show and im gonna go buy the whole book series tomorrow. I guess i shouldnt be surprised, my other 2 favorite tv series ever are from HBO (Band of Brothers and The Pacific). I seriously cant recomend this enough, if anyone reads this post and is on the fence of weather to watch, just go for it, its well worth it!

Martins said on his blog that A clash of Kings will have 10 episodes.

I can see that working for clash but Storm of Swords seems like it definitely needs more episodes that 10.

It's been suggested that HBO might try and keep it at ten for budgetary reasons. That said I wonder what will be cut if they limit it to ten episodes - there's a hell of a lot to get through in the second book.

I rather have too few ep's then too many.
With 10 ep's they will work hard to fit in what they can and the speed will be decent. If you give a series like Ice and Fire too many episode's it can really start to drag and the truth is you can have 20 ep's for the first season and still not have enough to put in everything.
With lesser ep's the whole thing becomes more streamlined. I think shows in general are better if the people working on them actually have to value every minute and how it will be spend rather then have the feeling that they have time to spare.

I'd heard they were splitting that book into two seasons of 10 episodes, but i don't think that was ever confirmed.

That was just what Martin suggested. The producers have made no statements regarding that. Martin also wanted 12 episodes for season 2.

How do companies decide what tv shows to keep. I just looked up the amount of us viewers and it's nothing compared to some shows that get cancelled.
Can someone explain because i'm clueless to why my favourite shows get cancelled.
Don't get me wrong I likes this series.

there's a difference between the main tv stations and pay tv stations. Obviously viewer numbers for HBO shows will always be lower.

They've covered their bases. In the episodes we've already seen on TV, they've added scenes that were not in the first book but that take care of the exposition needed for the second book.
They'll be able to breeze through a lot of the slush in the second season.

for the big stations that are funded by adrevenue it's basically only important how many viewers a show gets. And another factor should be the actors themself meaning that if the actors want too much money they will get canned too, which can lead to series being canceled
HBO is pay TV so for them what I suppose matters most is the % of people with a HBO subscribtion that watch this show. And how good the sales to overseas TV stations turned out plus profits from DVD sales
