I still felt bad for Ser Vardis; the single honorable person in the room was the one that died. I also loved Drogo speaking dothraki, before the coronation, and Dany's reaction to the whole scene, they really picked a great actress for the role.

I know it s a fantasy world and all, but what's the reasoning behind this judicial proceeding of naming someone in your place to fight for your right? I mean if im the best fighter in the kingdom, or if said fighter is my best pal, i can do whatever, and ask for prosecution in combat?

And Tyrion does have pretty much the best fighter in the kingdom - he originally asked for Jaime to be his champion. And yes, that means Tyrion can pretty much do whatever.

For one thing only nobles are likely to get a trial in the first place, many sentences are carried out judge/jury/executioner on the spot for commoners. But the idea of trial by combat is not a fantasy concept, it was an actual option used by many civilizations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_by_combat

That's one of the big moral dillema's in the book. Should people do what is right or what is honourable? And can it truly be called honour if the end result is so bad, not just for those involved but also for innocents.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to see them just sitting there for hours waiting for the fire to become hot enough. -.- Otherwise, Ep6 was just great! Man, I so wish I could watch episode 7 now ![]() Maybe the boiling temperature of gold is smaller then in our world ;p. It was the best episode so far, but it did seem like the actions of characters are careless just to make events more interesting, even if they lack common sense. I don't only mean the last episode.

Haha, I was going to say something about the *possibility* of melting gold in a campfire, but then re-watched it and noticed that not only was it not nearly hot enough to melt, but the molten gold was actually bubbling. Yeah, okay. Power of will.

Yeah, okay. Power of will. could not the impurity of the gold lower its threshold for melting? i mean i doubt they could get pure gold on the level we can with our tools today right?

Yeah, okay. Power of will. Oh and boiling gold looks like really hot metal (you know glowing red). I'm kinda sad they botched that, how hard is it to do one google : http://www.google.be/search?q=melting gold Can a campfire reach 3000+F degrees?
