It's not about how big you are, it's how you use those muscles. There's a martial arts theory that people have red and white muscles with red being big bodybuilder types that deliver burst power and white being less strength but more endurance and then pink type which is as powerful as red but as endurant as white and not bulky. anyways, size doesn't matter, especially if the entire force used is provided by a horse and not by you ie jousting. go watch Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong and see how smaller = stronger in some cases yeah, plus i'm skinny as a rake and i'd kick all your asses......

As for the best knight, the characters all seem to agree Dayne was the best of the recent era, and Aemon probably the best since Aegon landed

Outside of Bucharest it will be extremly hard i would say. Right, i should have clarified. I live in Transilvania, which is in Romania, though i'm Hungarian. Just now i've been to Budapest and went to Alexandra and Libry an neither had it, and tried to buy it online but bookline only had the last one. Anyways, the alexandra.hu does not have it either quite yet, but if the message is correct, they should have it soon EDIT : spoke too soon, they wont have the 2nd one :S

Random example......Why do all the baseball home run hitters have pretty big arms? Because attaining top speed with a weighted stick is a lot harder than you might initially perceive. I myself am quite skinny, but always surprise people with how strong I am. That being said, I cannot hit a baseball/sledgehammer/ax/etc anywhere near as hard as someone with more bulk to them. And swords would be no different. If you have no mass behind you, all the toughness in the world isn't going to help you. You won't be able to break armor/do damage behind armor/etc with stick arms. As someone with stick arms, I know this for a fact. I still might be dangerous in a fight because I would have elusivness on my side, and I would probably be deadly with a more rapier type weapon. But with a longsword....and having to get through armor? Forget about it, I would be f'ed.

Don't know if you're aware of that Geo. Anyway my personal advice would be that you save your money so you can read them in the writer's language. HI there, i'd buy in English just as well, i'm on amazon right now, searching for them, but i dont see shipping to Romania. Do you know a sure way to order them?

+ Show Spoiler + Pretty sure in the books it was Dayne > Barristan > Jaime > Robert/Rhaegar/Loras etc. Since Dayne is dead (i think) then barristan is the greatest living one, followed by jaime.

Honor or fighting capabilities? Sandor and Jaime are always mentioned in the top three in regards to the most dangerous allround-fighters. Gregor, Oberyn and Barristan too. Dayne, Rhaegar and Aemon were very popular and revered, but not necessarily the most dangerous people on the field.

You don't win battles for being honorable so it's obviously about the ability to fight. Those guys you named are only mentioned because they are living in the present, none of them would be able to beat a Robert when he took his throne in my view, nor any of the old Lord Commanders of the Kingsguard, except for Barristan of course who is Lord Commander at the moment.

So Loras used that to his advantage to get an upper hand.

A lot of people cast their votes on Dayne / Aemon the DK / Barristan. Garlan Tyrell is said to be pretty good too but the only evidence of that is hearsay about him practicing swordplay against three men of whose skill we have no idea. For GOAT, personally I'd pick Dayne particularly because of Jaime's personal account. Jaime's a bit full of himself when it comes to the topic of swordplay (with good cause) but when it comes to speaking of Dayne the guy is in awe. Living, my vote goes to The Hound.
