But personally I would like to see more combats with him, to be sure, but the story with Khal Drogo repeats again, those dothraki was very strong in theory and by storyline, bot on our show we saw pretty much nothing about his skills :/ With a clear mind, I dont think anyone would have the wits about them to ever challenge a duel with the mountain. Bronn said it best himself, "One slip, and Im done for." His thirst for vengeance is what ushered him to even have the nerve to call out the Mountain, and turns it was his ultimate undoing in the end too.

I love when shows like these elevate talented actors that otherwise would never have reached such popularity. I guarantee he will get a major role coming off of this season. Same goes for Tyrion. Hopefully he'll be sticking around a bit longer. While trying to avoid a sexist joke I imagined Dinklage replacing Hugh Grant in his movies and got a good laugh...

There is a limited use for the term, but the way it get's bandied about it would be appear most people have an expectation when reading/ viewing, that a story go through 30 'main characters,' each maybe lasting a chapter/ episode before they die. Unless they drop like flies: plot armour. blah.

Especially now with oberyn out of the picture, might as well not even show kings landing in the show without tyrion. My guess is Jaime helps him to escape somehow and he pretty much becomes a wanderer. If he is wandering, how does that help kings landing scenes?

I can't think of anything else he needs to do really though in the show. He's the only one who believes in the Nights Watch and would probably be a voice of reason to give them all the support they are going to need from Kings Landing. Other than that honestly idk.

I have seen him destroy people with a spear (it's his weapon of choice). It's hilarious how easily he can hit people's necks from a long range. Pic of him for reference ![]() + Show Spoiler + ![]() Thanks mate! This is a great post. The power of spears should not be underestimated. Even in actual ancient and medieval eras, they're good for individual combat, and godly in battle fronts. Good one of the ways Alexander the Great basically conquered everyone, with sarissas and the Macedonian phalanx formation. That's pretty much the absolute minimum that thing would weigh(even as a realistic prop sword). Now imagine how strong somebody would have to be to swing that thing around with one hand. Well the 5 lbs would have to be distributed across, but I've handed actual blades but the blade itself wasn't like 30-40 inches so it was still at a point that's pretty easy to handle. I don't have a long rod, or else I'd love to try your experiment to simulate REALLY long blades . Crazy medieval Scots and Germans and Gregor aside, there really is no need for a sword that large. It's unwieldly even if you are very strong. If you want a long weapon, halberds and short spears tend to work better imo.On June 05 2014 12:23 Scarecrow wrote: I'd be much more concerned about Tyrion if they hadn't announced his execution. No way they're announcing killing off a major character one episode and then doing it the next. Him getting help to escape and being killed once we think he's safe would be far more GoT style. He escaped execution at the Vale due to trial by combat, but he didn't here. Maybe there will be something else to save him? It's hard to say, but some people or at least Jaime certainly don't want him dead by any means. Maybe with his authority as commander of the Kingsguard he can do something, but we'll see. Also, Tyrion is the one "voice of reason" character in the show. Killing him would break the show worse than almost any other character dying.
