I don't think the series have the potencial for another Ice Truck Killer/Trinity but all the new plot with Debra knowing about Dexter's secret can make a pretty solid story. And it has been way better than season 6 at the moment in my opinion -_- Well in between season 6 and 7 I went and watched The Wire, which has basically ruined every other non HBO show (except breaking bad and louie, and a couple others) for me ![]()

See an opinion you don't like, ignore the claims the individual uses in an attempt to justify that opinion, respond with a snarky comment. I'm sure there's a logical fallacy or two that applies here. I enjoy the show and listed my reasons. You obviously didn't enjoy certain elements that I did, and that's OK. Billions of people in this world and not everyone (fortunately) agrees on everything. That's the fun in life. It generates discussion (and snide remarks, I suppose) and criticism.

Harrison is living with Jamie as Dexter stays with Deb. They filmed the scene explaining it but, according to commentary from the writers, it slowed the pace of the episodes down. I feel it was a blunder as most do, however, as most do. It would be fine if Harrison wasn't meant to play such a crucial element in the series at this point (i.e. it is the only thing keeping Dexter from abandoning his life and escaping as he attempted to do momentarily last season) because not everything has to happen on screen, but as is, it definitely left me curious and annoyed.

You don't build up a character for so long to just kill him like that.. That's not how writing work oO

This kind of childish sociopath is not really interesting.

Season 1 was really good. But its still at least entertaining enough to watch. Doesn't mean it has good writing, hell without Michael C Hall's acting there wouldn't be a show lol.

No, I agree with Noocta to some extent. Oh sure, I love Game of Thrones even though GRRM kills his characters left and right out of the blue. However, I feel like in that series it's established that it's that type of story early on, where nobody is safe. Now, with Dexter this feels terribly out of place based on how the story has been set up to this point. I don't know about everyone else, but for me the ONLY thing that held my interest in Dexter over season 6 was Louis' mysterious connection to Dexter and possibly his brother. I was under the impression that Louis somehow knew everything about Dexter and would gradually become a major character as the series progressed. However, come season 7 it's like the writers completely forgot all of the strong implications of this and simply passed him along as just some weirdo with an obsession....and then they kill him. LAME They've also seemingly swept Deb's romantic feelings for Dexter under the carpet. I thought this direction of the story they introduced was totally retarded last season but you can't just abandon it now -_-

And I disagree about Deb's feelings being swept under being bad. It is understandable that she can't share her feeling when she is contemplating whether or not to turn in Dexter for being a serial killer. I think it will show up again, but yeah the series definitely has a history of destroying relationships between seasons off screen.

With GRRM there's some build up to the characters deaths though. Here it was pretty sudden and Louis wasn't even involved with the mafia before this.
