Its pretty clear to me that when they wrote the previous season where they introduced lewis they had intended something else with him. But viewer ratings probably dissapointed or they felt that fans wanted deb to discover dexters secret, so the writers felt they have to move on faster with the writing, and lewis didn't fit in this season.

I loved how they offed Louis. Is it unorthodox to kill someone with so much screen time to quickly? Yes. But it was damn unexpected and made me yell holy shit. I appreciate when a show won't kill a major character without a long, drawn-out demise. His death felt completely in-place to the season's plot and wasn't overplayed for the sake of overplaying it.
The thing that stuck out to me the most was Nadia agreeing to be Quinn's double agent. Why? Because as soon as those Russian/Ukrainian guys even slip Dexter's name, Quinn will hear about it through her and cause a real problem for Dexter.

The guy's name is actually Louis. Please call him that instead of Lewis :@@@
I'm really hoping they actually showcase previous seasons and show who Dexter has actually dealt with already :3

I'm surprised Doakes as the Bay Harbor Butcher hasn't come up between Deb and Dexter.
|
No, the writers watched Breaking Bad and wanted to do something really controversial and unexpected.
Lewis was building up to be a really interesting character, a nerdy mastermind who admired Dexter and who would have been able to take him down easily or at the very least a thorn in Dexter's sight.
Nobody would have seen his death coming, it was extremely unexpected.

Or Dexter being the fucking Dark-Knight-Vigilantee-Serial-Killer-behind-the-plastic-curtain-boning-number-13.

Season 3 is kind of meh, Season 4 is amazing (I'm talking Breaking Bad kind of amazing), season 5 is decent, season 6 is utter crap baring the last episode's ending and Season 7 is really, really awesome so far.

Hmm, I have kinda mixed up the seasons in my head because I have never watched a season more than once. Which is season 4?

I dunno... the way they cut to that blood spatter on Dexter's boat after he was shot and the whole emphasis Lewis had on framing Dexter, I think his death may play an instrumental role in either him getting caught or Deb thinking he murdered Lewis and completely flipping on him.

This. 1000x This. Something was up during that whole exchange. Either she and Dex are gonna get all fuzzy wuzzy and nakey nakey or it's just a giant tease. I'm hoping for the first one. I hope they don't fuck this up with some dipshit retarded love side plot. They have even on their plate trying to adequately tell one story without going ADHD on us with 5 different sub plots again. If they have any hope of ending the series with any semblance of grace then probably should avoid something that will probably end up going no where. But what if it's a fucking awesome dipshit retarded love side plot? Hear me out. So what if this bitch was way more in on the killings than anyone knew? To the point of manipulating what's his face to doing them while she watched or some sick twisted shit like that. I can see Miranda (yes that's Miranda from mass effect) being a real badass. Cuz I get the vibe she knew something was up with Dexter. And Dexter doesn't really get nervous around the ladies like that. She's totes in the cereal killer club. Slaying apple jack, honey nut cherrios and all kindas of Captain Crunch. She's gonna call Dexter up in an episode or two from now and wanna do dinner. They are gonna go out for a few drinks and she's gonna go off and slay some rando douche guy that hit on her the other weekend right in front of Dexter, wanting him to get in on the fun. Now Dexter will be torn because she's now the love of his life but she doesn't have a code. Dexter will then try to teach her a code and all will be merry while they kill people together and have sex while they wait for the victims to wake up. Instead of tossing the bodies out to sea because Dexter's boat is now sunk she will use the bodies as fertilizer for her plants like she had been doing with all her other kills. (the humidity increase the decomposition process). In a shocking turn of events Marissa will get fed up with Deb riding Dexter's dick about the killings and Deb will get fed up with Marissa because she's still in love with Dexter. Marissa then discovers that Deb is in love with Dexter due to her cereal killer lucky charms sense. Marissa procedes to tell Dexter that Deb loves him. Huge bitch fight will ensue and Dexter will be forced to choose one. Except in either scenario one of them will die. DUN DUN DUN. Except by this point the brotherhood will be on to Dexter and want his head. Although they are unsure how to precede due to him being a cop and wanting to know why he killed Victor. They will see him with his new wifey and use her as collateral to try and bait him into a position that they can kill him. Except they don't realize that she is a cereal killer too and she goes off all count chocula and kills them. Deb arrives at the scene after Dexter calls for help and shoots crazy bitch Marissa so that she can have Dexter all to herself. Dexter arrives just in time to see Deb take the shot and realizes that Deb has a dark passenger inside her just like he does. They make love in the bloody carnage. The season ends on the cliff hanger that Miami metro shows up to a scenario of a bloodbath and while doing the lab work all they are able to find... is... a semen sample! I WANT YOU AS THE LEAD WRITTER FOR THE SERIES
I didn't even read his post properly just skimmed it so fast that I didn't absorb anything but I knew it was good because I saw the DUN DUN DUN in there.

I wish they at least let him kill off Harrison before dying, I mean the baby's just a waste of screen time and isn't even cute. Musuka is all the cuteness you need in Dexter, damn he's hilarious.

Ugh. You just reminded me of the most fucking retarded scene in Dexter. How could Deb just leave them there, she doesn't even know if it might be a bad guy killing a girl. Not to mention the last minute asspull of Dexter overpowering the kidnapper turning the tables and allowing for a perfect ending.

it's becoming more and more obvious that the writer for season 6 was planning on a Dexter - Deb - Lewis - Lewis's Girlfriend - TokenBlackDetective love pentagon, ultimately resulting in a group orgy of mammoth proportions (and possibly ending with Quinn's unrequited love storyline boiling over to the point where he murders all those involved, thus becoming the spiritual successor to Dexter).
This, I feel, is the best explanation for the sudden and clumsy deaths of Lewis and TokenBlackDetective, aswell as Quinn's "Why won't you marry me boohoohoho- Wild Season 7 Appears - ... Debra who?" thing.
Clearly the genius season 6 writer, in all his glory and storytelling genius, was sinbinned for whatever reason (Reason: Season 6 sucked balls) and as punishment for the suckiness of that season, the current writers are making it absolutely clear that TBD and Lewis will never exchange bodily fluids in an arousing manner, Quinn doesn't murder Deb and everyone she's ever fucked, and Dexter and Lewis' Girlfriend never finally get to play house - for real.
Why else would they so meticulously prepare us for a steamy Dex/Deb wincest relationship, even to the point where they moved in together, only to snatch it away quite conclusively with this recent turn of events? Not only are they scrapping the interracial, pansexual panoplie of depraved brilliance that is the aforementioned love pentagon, but they're also destroying the one thing that was making me look forward to tv this autumn: seeing Dex pound Deb and vice versa (strapons etc., I mean you just know Deb's into that shit).
You disappoint again, Dexter. Fingers crossed HispanicChiefDetectiveWithDumbHatAndAwfulActing + Misuka can still work out.
